Texas Vs K State Game Thread

Man to man and press coverage! Totally turned around this secondary play. Attack LOS. Trust your young players win or lose!
Great second half adjustments. Prevent defense does not work! Remember this Orlando!

Again, I know very little about actually playing football. That said does anyone else feel that the O-line got better when we lost Angilau?

Agree. Orlando coached and schemed timidly in the first half. Screw that. In the immortal words of Carrol O’connor In kelly’s Heroes: Attack, Attack, Attack.

I think Eagles lined up wrong on that penalty play. Would have been 6. At any rate, I’m glad it was 27-24 for burnt orange team with steer on the helmet!

:bevo:
Blessing in disguise. What if KSU returned another KO?

Herman to Green: Kid there is this new thing called the transfer portal, you should check it out.

Why bother. How about kid, we'll deliver you stuff to your dorm. Your key's been declined. He could have really hurt that other kid. Last game we get a cheap shot on a block on a punt return. Just no excuse for this BS. We should not be looked at as Thug U. We're better than that. Anyone that can't get the memo, c'ya.

I was at game and didn’t see it; was it thuggish?

You didn’t see it because it was on the other side of the field completely away from the play and yes it was a thuggish unnecessary and unacceptable cheap shot. At the very least Herman should suspend him for the rest of the year. It was premeditated and easily could have cost the game.

Would you let Green ever play again? I'd kick his *** off the team and send a message that that **** isn't going to be tolerated.
Come on. He is a kid. Yes, stupid, cost the team. He cannot play in the 1st half of Iowa State. That is punishment enough.

If you kick off every player on this team that had committed a srupid thing this year, we would have to forfeit every game left. You do not know what had been going on in the game between the two up to that point.

I agree. Maybe make him sit the whole game next week. It was a chickenshit play but these are just kids we’re taking about. Mistakes come with the territory.

Nice destruction of a straw man. Neither Wadster nor anyone else suggested banishing a player merely for doing something "stupid."

He did exactly what Greg McElroy said he should do, if you can believe that. Pretty sad when when the commentators have to tell our coaches how to coach.

Look there are stupid penalties and there are plays to intentionally hurt another player. That was a shot straight to the head away from the play. Most targeting penalties are a bad tackle but a kid trying to make a play. That's not what this was. It was intentional and could have really hurt the opposing player. That's not what we're about. If you want to keep him on the team maybe, but he doesn't play again this year. We are not Miami of the 80s. At some point you have to stand for something. I have no tolerance for **** like that. Absolutely zero. This isn't about whether it cost the team or not. It's about player safety and not having a kid get a serious concussion for no reason.

I’d like to hear more about the Green situation. What’s his side? Did he get a cheap shot on the plays before? I’m giving pretty good odds he did get something.
If he didn’t, and just out of the blue maliciously hit another player to hurt him, yes we need to figure out if he’s the type of guy we want wearing our name on his chest.
Some might be too young but in Vince’s first Rose Bowl early in the first half a Michigan player blatantly grabbed him in the junk. He couldn’t retaliate as a QB, he just went off, and found a phone booth.
I can understand if something like that happened to Jalen, get your money back.
If not, let’s figure out what direction we’re going. If not pure contrition, this is not the place for you.

I disagree with this^^^. Green took a cheap shot, yes. Young men make mistakes, and Green made one today. Its an opportunity to learn. He will learn, and he'll be a better player because he'll learn to channel that aggression into tough, legal fair play.
