TEXAS vs AUSTIN PEAY Game Thread

NativeTxChic - What I meant is I'm not bothered that DJ is only 1-7 in the first half. I'm glad that AJ, Pittman, and others are stepping up.

Ooops!! My bad! I'm stuck here at work, and it's driving me insane!! UGH!! Sorry.

Not to dis Pittman, but I'd be real concerned if he WASN'T having this kind of a game. AP has no one that can even come close to guarding him, and he ought to be having his way.

having said that, he's looked good doing that, he's hit free throws, hustled, done anything you'd ask of him, so that's great to see.

Mason has been a bit sloppy from the point. He had one nice entry pass to Pittman, but a couple of wild passes. Would like to see him able to take over for DJ for a few minutes when he heads to the bench.

With a 30 point lead, take out all of the starters except Connor. Get him a few more shots then take him out. Hopefully he will make a couple of shots, to get him a little confidence. Other than that, no starter needs to be on the floor with a 30 point lead.

Don't mean to be critical, but I agree about the starters. We still have 4 out there. I'd hate to see one of them get a late injury. Put in the bench.

Congratulations, Longhorns! The Governors were simply outclassed and outmatched in every conceivable way by a much superior ballclub today. The Texas Longhorns are the most impressive team I have seen thus far. Here's my take;

I thought it would be crucial for Austin Peay to have any sort of chance today to come out hitting some shots. At the very least they would gain a little confidence. They did receive some open looks in the first couple of possessions but the shots just were not falling and... BAM... it was over early. The Horns were simply too big down low and Abrams absolutely blistered the nets! That guy was especially impressive today.

This Texas team is VERY impressive and, again, is by far the most impressive team I have seen in the tournament thus far. The offense is executed exceptionally well and I was impressed with how well you take care of the ball. The defense is smothering.

The Govs just did not come to play today but it would not have mattered against this Longhorn team. Still, I did like the play of Sophomore Earnest Fields.

Congrats once again.

Thanks String. I have to say, I enjoyed reading the posts by the Austin Peay fans - knowledgable, and entertaining. Though, I think you might have the biggest Peayness of them all.

It was good seeing Dexter for an extended period today. One thing that really impressed me is his hands. He catches the ball very well in the low post.
