What's the common thread through all these seasons of bad offense?

The common thread is recruiting players that can hit and with some power. We don't do that and haven't for some time now.

We go for pitching at the expense of the offensive side of the game. We take fielding over that side of game too. There has to be a happy medium. There are still players out there that can hit and play their position well at the same time.

It's sad that we have probably one of the best lead off hitters in college baseball hitting clean up because he has as much or more power than any other hitter we have on the team while not striking out every other at bat.

There are only two players that hit with consistency throughout the year and that is Weis and Payton. We have too many starters that don't hit their weight, some not close to their weight.



Will Nicholson make a difference only time will tell.
