workman falls behind 3-0 to lead inning, rupp visits again....he's not quite on, but still shutting em out.....ez fly to rf, 1 out, on a 3-0 count
 
Some other sports real quick, the softball team run ruled Iowa State to clinch a share of the Big XII title today. Women's tennis is down 1-0 to Baylor and trailing in 4 of 6 of the singles. Men's tennis is tied with aggy 1-1 and leading in 3 of 5 remaining singles matches.

Workman's living dangerously as he keeps falling behind his hitters. Hope he pulls it together--looks like we're in for another pitcher's duel.
 
fritsch walks leadoff man on 4 pitches...he's definitely nibbling lately....his catcher NEEDS to visit but doesn't...connor up
 
Wonder what these Bears hitters are thinking. First, they rally late to get no-decisions against Jungmann and Green, only to lose in extra innings in both contests.

Then, come Sunday, they have to face our "weakest" starter, a guy with an 8-1 record and 2.82 ERA. You have to wonder if, psychologically, the Bears are beat.
 
fristch starts out 0-2 on walla...., fouls 3rd pitch, fouls 4th pitch....5th pitch outside...fouls off 6th pitch (fritsch is going to wear down, Horns know he's nibbling)...fouls off 7th pitch....pop fly to cf

Would've like to had a hit there, but a pretty good at-bat from Koala.

Any idea on Fritsch's pitch count? My guess is he's approaching 80 through five IP.
 
jmo...we need to swing away on fritch now...he's looking for us to swing at pitches off the black...no need to give up outs, he;s hittable when he's behind the count.

last nite's BU pitcher was a different deal, he was dominant...but fritch is hittable if we make him come to the strike zone
 
Horns have stranded a couple of runners at third now, would like to see a few more runs, counting on pitchers to be perfect is not a sustainable strategy.

workman goes 0-2, misses on a change, 4th pitch is hi....hi and outside, full count (he's just not ON)....swinging K in the dirt.. 1 out, runners at 2nd, 3rd
 
Horn killer hansfuther up...fouls off 2 pitches, 0-2...both breaking balls, workman not his usual self....see ya! swing n a miss, throw out at first b/c ball in dirt..runnners hold 2 out
 
By the way, I have the Baylor pitcher at 69 pitches through five innings. Not quite as high as I originally guessed.

Workman's count is also climbing on account of this jam in the fifth.

Baylor women about to win tennis title up 3-0 on Texas. Horns and Ags tied at 2 in men's championship. Texas leads in one match, trails in another and third set for final match.
