Texas/UConn Thread

We have no way to stop them...if they don't turn it over...and right now, they can't miss or go to the line and make'm....whereas we are one and done.

Pittman is a decent player but he is no star, he gets in foul trouble too quickly. Look where he has come from though, way overweight and out of shape to now playing too much.

Texas will struggle to finish in the Top 4 in the Big 12 because the Big 12 has at least half a dozen teams that are as good as Texas.

at some point the coach needs to put an end to all this driibble drive penetration and set up some outside shots. he has not done that against eATMe, ksu, or uconn.

Why do players forget they can call timeout when the get a lose ball on the ground with 3 defenders around them?

Texas a possible No. 2 or 3 seed? After today's performance, you must be kidding. Looks like more losses against Kansas and A&M. Two straight games where we failed to play good defense and had problems scoring.

clark kellog knows. we need to stop with all the dribble drives to the basket play after play after play. set up the outside game and that will open up the inside game.

This is another poor showing. I have to question the coaching at this point. The team can't shoot free throws and the offense is a mess. If your defense starts to go south as well what the hell do you have to hang your hat on to?

I think Texas had too much early season success and got overconfident with all the young players they have. Only one way to go when you are 17 - 0. Not liking the effort of the players on the court outside of James.

i dont think that hte young players are at fault here. brown and hamilton were on the bench for most the second half and bradly was shooting 50% from the field the last i saw. balbay and mason constantly dribble into a clogged lane because everyone is ready to take out pittman and james while they stand under hte basket.

Free throws: Uconn 26/37 = 70% Horns: 6/16 = 38%

Uconn shoots 21 more free throws. We are NOT playing together as a team...

The two things that really frustrate me about our recent play are:
We give up way too many offensive rebounds.
When teams put tight man-to-man pressure on us nobody, and I mean nobody
, sets a screen.
We stand around and just wait for someone else to make a play.

wtf we were up 10 pts to start the half....I left the house at that point with my bride for the evening. Next thing you know we were down 10. What happened? Balbay picks up 3 fouls in 30 seconds.

Does anyone else think Dex looks like he has put some of the weight back on? To me he appears bigger than earlier in the year.

this is an example of how tough and long a season is - we have played a very good schedule and have done quite well - we lost 2 road games - in the big picture, big deal - home court is huge in college basketball - we win at home yesterday - and it's not like uconn doesn't have talent - the only concern that really needs to be addressed (besides f-throws) is scoring around the bucket - missing easy shots is brutal because if the other team goes down and scores, it makes it a 4 or 5 point miss not to mention what it does to momentum and confidence - in a situation like this you have to see the big picture and just work your way through it
