Texas @ Texas A&M

I was wrong, good win. MUCH better offense/player movement against the zone and on offense in general. Shay giving the team that kind of production from the wing position makes the team even better. Good adjustments from coaches and execution from the players. Hopefully they both can continue to do that. Does anyone know the time table for the injured players to return?

I have to say though, looking at the crowd I was jealous of how packed Reed Arena was. I mean yeah, the top deck was empty, but to see how solidly filled the lower arena was for a women's game made me sad for us.
Texas typically draws well against A&M at home and when Baylor comes to town. I think there has to be some headway made with trying to get more students to games.

One thing I’ve noticed is that defenses are hedging Harmon hard to her right hand. She denied the screen and went left several times into the open center. But she is much less effective doing that. She’ll need to work on that as she’ll see more snd more of that until she makes them consistently pay. She’s quick as a cat on a hot tin roof to her right. Hey…..is there a song or movie idea there?
Yep. watching the state championship game and Desoto also did the same thing and she was less effective going left.

I agree about A&M but sadly when Baylor comes to town they bring buses of fans and often weaken the home court advantage with the numbers they turn out. Texas is Baylor’s benchmark for what makes a good or bad season. I hope Vic turns the recent trend around.

Re-watching the game… shaking my head as A&M fans give Rori a repeating “airball” razzing while Texas was up 34-20. Rori went on to score 18 points with 9 assists and 3 rebounds.

Honestly, the only fans worse than Aggies are Bears. Texas fans might mock a team/school or boo a coach, but we are honorable enough to not mock or otherwise target a player.

I enjoy your posts NUT, but at the risk of appearing dishonorable, "Air Ball" is one of our favorites. Just fun.

From my experience, it seems the “airball” chant usually ends after that player scores a bucket. In non-cult environs that is…

Right? They kept after her like she was Kevin Durant when he goes back to OKC - every time she touched the ball for several possessions they'd start up.

To chant "Airball" every time an opponent touches the ball is to try to get into her head so that the opponent will play poorly. I'm okay with it, as long as it's clean, and it was.

The “air ball” occurred at the 5:50 mark in the 2nd quarter. The chanting was still going on in the 3rd quarter. At some point it’s not funny anymore. It’s embarrassingly bad sportsmanship. I come from a family of Aggies. It’s a cult and they are very poor losers. It’s almost laughable at times. UT lives in their heads rent-free year round.

Baylor, on the other hand, are poor losers, poor winners and overall just poor fans. I attended one game in Waco years ago. My daughter was in tears when we left not because of the outcome of the game, but rather the ugliness of the fans. I’m fine if I never set foot on that campus or in Waco ever again. And for the record, those Magnolia Silos are glorified junk shops.
:puke:

I’ve been to several Big 12 Conference tournaments and the only fan base that boo’s during pregame player introductions is, you guessed it, Baylor. Worst fan base ever
