Texas Tech Series

Passed ball. Run scores. 4-2 them.

Another passed ball.

I’d keep LBJ in there for now. But the next passed ball……..

Walks another one. 2 on the corners, still no out. pitch count up to 38 already but it may not matter. LBJ may not even get out of the 2nd.

ground ball to powell and gets the out at 1st. run scores.
ground ball to Flores in the shift. 2 outs.
runner moved up to 3rd.

3 outs. 4-3 Texas. Flores was in the shift again, both outs 2 and 3 were hit up the middle and if Flores wasn't playing directly behind 2nd base, they are base hits.

On to the top of the 3rd.

LBJ isn’t the problem IMO. Your catcher is a huge liability. I’ve never seen a UT team without a badass catcher.

Flores ground ball to SS and the throw is wide, Kash having to really reach out to make the play but it's questionable. Call was he was out. Being reviewed.

LBJ is known for throwing the ball in the dirt, way in front of the plate, i can't recall on both of those but seemed like both were thrown in the dirt which means the errors are on LBJ not the catcher.

I get it that the catcher COULD have blocked it and you are right about us usually having solid catchers.

We got out of the inning scoring no runs. LBJ back on the mound 150 pitches already in the 3rd. I'm kidding, only 53 pitches with 1 out now.

End of the inning, to the top of the 4th.

Due up:
Schuessler
O'Dowd
Gasparino

Schuessler walks on 4 pitches.

I’m watching your catcher not be able to get up out of his knee in the ground stance to block anything or scramble to retrieve anything. And for the record, passed balls are in the catcher, wild pitches are on the pitcher.

pitches thrown in to the dirt in front of the catcher is a wild pitch in my book and the fault of the pitcher as it should be.

Passed ball is any other pitch a catcher should reasonably be able to handle but allowed the runner to advance because he didn't have the ball because of his own error.

Powell hits a ground ball up the middle to score Schuessler and Gasparino. 2 outs.

Flores hits a single up the middle, a lazy line drive. 2 on (1st and 2nd) 2 outs. 6-4 Texas.

I've talked about the catchers on their knees a few times, i'm completely against it, no way they can move like they need to especially with the wild pitching we've been seeing.

correct

Dang, well hit ground ball down the left field line, bad throw at the plate, scores 2 and Schuessler makes it to 3rd on the throw to home. :bounce1::bounce2::yippee: 11-4 Texas.

The ball ended up in the left field corner.
