Texas Tech Series

Really tough series this weekend.

I expect we will rip off 10 straight wins now, the next 10 are pretty weak but it doesn't hide the fact that our starting pitching and bullpen are shaky. figure our next little test will be against KSU in Manhattan. They are a decent team.

This was a huge series win for this team that some thought was on the brink of collapse. Horns take 2 of 3 in what right now looks like our toughest road series of the year.

Our biggest threat in the Big 12, TCU, lost their series against Kansas this weekend, two games to one. We may end up winning the damn conference this year, but we're still not SEC ready

Going 2-2 this past week was the absolute minimum needed to keep a chance at doing something later in the year truly viable. I am really hoping that this is just growing pains and like the men's basketball team this team will develop into something in May that they definitely are not showing in early March. Nice win today and it is good to take a road series in Lubbock, that is nothing to take lightly.

Very pleased we went into Lubbock, a notoriously tough place to be the visitor, and took a series from a Top 25 team.

The bats look really good, and we're at least getting to see who's who in the pitching staff.

Don't be surprised if we see some guys liike Grubbs and Boehm work into starting pitcher roles.

TCU will bounce back. They're another one of these teams (like Tech and even us) with a lot of capable bats, but overall suspect pitching.

We're as likely as anyone to win this conference. The pitching needs to get settled.

I didn't see this coming, but I'm quite capable of objectively stating what I see.

A&M is a darn good pitching team this year. In fact, right now they're ranked #1 in team ERA. Granted, that will likely change as they slog through the meat of their conference schedule. But, they've put together a very good pitching staff, and that can mean a run deep into the playoffs and back to Omaha.

Congrats on the series win, fellas! Moving forward, I guess we’ll see ya in the regionals…assuming we ever get Tadlock convinced that we need a new pitching coach. Sigh.

All the best.

I'd much rather sit next to two Texas Tech Red Raiders than one Houston Cougar, Oklahoma Sooner, Arkansas Razorback, or Baylor Bear.

I think the Big 12 has morphed itself into a slow pitch softball league with all these 11-10, 18-12, 13-9 sort of final scores. I think we've been pulled onto that bandwagon. Traditionally, we were the team with the badass pitching. Well, at least now we can hit really well. And so can Tech.

I hope you are correct. I hate that we/Texas has to use the term "suspect pitching" in any year. That is a sad statement on development by Pierce.
