Texas-KSU Game Thread

So the D forced 5 fumbles that bounce bad, just miss like 7 sacks. And a pick. There are frustrations but as the broadcast pointed out the effort is there and so close. Deuce was not a factor on the ground. His catching and busted Martinez plays were the difference.

I don’t see it that way at all, they should be winning comfortably with these first half performances. All the games are the same, ISU receiver drops an easy catch or we lose there, and now we get a fumble here. Sark crapping the bed on third down calls especially when the defense is putting the entire defensive unit in the box. When they put two halves together in game against a team with a qb they will start exorcising some demons.
You have to wonder why Ewers doesn't audible away from running into a nine man line. Play Action, Maybe?? That would have scored.

Tower lit in Arlington, and that bourbon was the first I’ve had, so this is no drunk pic.
Dam, I couldn’t take another 4th qtr loss.

2 games in a row we score 31 in the 1st half and 3 in the second because Sark puckers. They put 8 down, you have to throw on 1st down and he just won't do it. He needs to learn a lesson or someone needs to make sure he does. Time for the AD to get involved and tell all gas and no brakes means exactly that. And if Sark won't coach to win, he'll find someone that will. I'm not even happy. It's just death by a thousand paper cuts. When we had Colt we just kept the peddle to the metal.
He still hasn’t learned that everyone plays their best against Texas. How many fumbles were recovered by KSU? How many unbelievable scrambles and throws downfield? It’s uncanny but you to play on offense as if it WILL happen.

@caryhorn why did you "WTF" this? At the time, it was true.
Well, I was reflecting on the two fumbles our D line caused. That would be the only reason for me to do that. You were right in that there were a number of all day to throw plays. And a lot of Martinez escaping a solid rush and our guys simple not wrapping up on the tackle.

I thought the same thing re an audible but maybe he’s not that confident yet after only 4-5 games in the saddle.

I was talking about the effort it took by the defense to say “no, not tonight!” They clearly clawed to the end and that is how you start turning something around. It’s the turning an aircraft carrier thing. The defense stood in there to the end. Now Sarkisian needs to do his part to be better in the second half.

Sark has got to continue to mix it up even after getting a lead.

Defense fought so hard at the end of the game, I feel for them.

Yes.

The steadfast PK and the D wins the game in the end.

:bevo::bevo::bevo::bevo:
I don’t like PK’s schemes, his three man rush and zone scheme where the db’s and linebackers treat the middle of the field like the Bermuda Triangle where they just won’t go and receivers disappear from their eyes. However, the defense would not look so bad if Sark didn’t send the offense home at halftime.

Yeah, when the defense held KSU to a FG in the previous series, I had a good feeling that the D was going to put up a fight.

I certainly want to keep him and his regime around, but I’ll keep calling him “Second Half Steve” until we start consistently winning the second half.
We don't need to win the 2nd half. Just not lose it by 2-3 scores. How about just lose it by 7 and we're having an excellent season.

Good?

Funny the consternation over my comment. Had I made a comment basically giving up on watching the Texas game to watch a bunch of overgrown crybabies play baseball, I would have been lambasted.

Interesting.
No Consternation at all. I can see that keeping up with more than one game stymies you. I was able to watch both. Maybe UT Grads from 1982 are just that talented.

I served to protect your Freedom of Speech.....I am having second thoughts
