Texas-Kansas Game Thread

Behind only OU the most complete game in a long time. I appreciated that we didn’t see Texas start throwing the ball on those third and 5,6 even 9’s as the run game was getting it done. Sark didn’t overcoach the offense as KU never showed it could stop the run. The defense is so much better it is palpable. Now next week is so huge in terms of finishing and setting up next year. Have to build on this.

Tiebreaker Procedures

This is assuming everyone but KSU wins out:

1. Mini round robin (wouldn't matter because we beat KSU who beat OK state who beat us).

2. Vs. remaining teams in conference standings -- this is where it gets kind of stanky because we don't know who's going to finish in 5th place yet.
Baylor? Texas beat, KSU/OSU lost. Texas wins tb.
Tech? KSU/OSU beat, Texas lost. Goes to h2h between KSU/OSU, KSU wins tb.
KU? Texas beat, KSU/OSU lost. Texas wins tb.
OU can't finish 5th mathematically if OK State wins tonight to create the original tiebreak.

So basically, there's no scenario where OK State goes back to the CCG. 3rd tiebreak is points differential, and 4th tiebreak is a HS-style draw.

The best we can do tonight is pray for ISU to beat the **** out of Tech and then hope for KU to find the cajones to beat KSU, which they probably won't do to spite us.

I think and hope you are wrong.
KU's hate for KSU is deep and historic. Don't think they will give a nanosecond thought to losing to just to hurt us
AND I think Leipold will have them ready.
 
Color commentator guy I really liked … former Oregon coach … before game I was afraid Brando and Tillman would be on the call

I never knew on kick off return guy could put left foot out of bounds and touch kick off ball in bounds and it’s penalty as if kick went out of bounds …
 
really thought Kansas was going to play better on their home turf. But we shamelessly punked them.
so, obviously, if our ground game is going our chances of winning are really good, but if not and we have to pass then all bets are off.
I am still really pissed off at Sark for him sticking with QE when it's obvious Card is the better passer and runner.
we should at least be 9-2, but for Sark's stubbornness. And I am not willing to forgive him of this

Not so fast. KSU is coming off a good win. KS is coming off a bad loss. In my mind, the “no way they can win” mentality represents a physiological advantage for the Jawhawks.

Remember that when we went into Manhattan, they had just destroyed Oklahoma State 48-0. We blew them out in the first half.

*Unless it somehow helps the Horns toward Big XII Champioship game....
