Texas @ Georgia 02/24/2025

So much for keeping that number one rating. With GAs size inside, you knew they'd zone. If we can't break a zone we won't go as far as we should.

Our offense is anemic. And yet it's been Rori with some clutch buckets (a 3?!?!?). But we are matching their sloppy energy.

I think the refs are letting them play which is great, but also cmon. And some of the turnovers they called seemed fishy to me.

Oh well. When you're the number one team in the country after a week off you shouldn't struggle like this.

Yep, those poll folks gotta be scratching their heads right now. I expected Texas to come out and show the basketball world why they deserve to be number one. Perhaps the moment is just too big for them.

Winning ugly counts just as much as winning in blowout fashion.
Take the win and get out of town.
The number 1 ranking is nice to see and reflects the hard work this team has done thus far.
All that matters is to be Number 1 after the season is over.
That said, we are playing with little emotion and are playing down to the competition and should be blowing Georgia out!

Georgia isn’t playing to win. They’re playing not to be embarrassed in their own arena.
They’re sticking to their game plan which you have to give them credit.
Texas is definitely not playing up to snuff.

From screeching announcer to monotoned announcer - where do they find these people? And that constant voice screening GEORGIA BASKETBALL! Where’s my mute button?

We scored more in the 4th quarter than we did in the first half. :e-face-tears: And we won by 31! What a weird game.

Georgia 26
Texas 23 in 4th quarter

They were playing the #1 team in the nation and could barely muster a crowd of 2,700. How sad to see how far Georgia’s program has fallen.

And then this is what they offer for a post game presser. The one for their team was simply the coach standing in a hallway and it lasted about half as long as this one. Sad.

A few Tuesday morning comments. The offense struggled mightily in first half against a quick and physical Georgia sagging zone. The referees let em play and neither coach complained about that. Several comments on board regarding first half defense seem misguided. Yes Oldacre was slow on hedge and Preston got backdoored and looked lost in her second quarter defensive assignment; however, other than those few mishaps the defense was outstanding. The entire game. Don’t let offensive struggles frustrate defense view. Sad to see Georgia basketball attendances so low and product struggles after watching Coach Landers’ teams from the 1990s. Back to defense……the Texas defense is so solid fundamentally and they play so hard….if I’m an opponent coach or player watching, I’m dreading trying to score consistently. It’s a work of beauty. Offense sometimes struggles …..but defense always travels. Hoping it travels to Starkville.
