Texas-Baylor Game Thread

I will give credit where credit is due and eat some crow to(wait did that just rhyme?). Anyway, they could have folded after the scoop and score, but they dug deep, manned up and kicked *** like a dominant football team would. No trickeration or lucky break, just pound the defense’s d$:k in the dirt.

of course ewres will get credit for a win, but blah, in spite of him
You have been beating on Ewers for a lot more than this game.

I would like to remind you of A recent QB that was universally praised on this board.

do you remember his freshman year? Probably not. Go back and look at the TTU and Okie lite games, especially the ending of both games.

get off the kids back.

Bijan finishes 29 for 179. Not bad day at the office. Finally got his 100+ against Baylor.

One more year! One more year! One more year!
It may depend on if he wants a chance to win the heisman. On a team with a better record and playing for a playoff spot, this would have been a heisman performance.

I talk crap when I'm mad. I want Texas up by 50 every game. I want all QBs to play like James Street, Vince or Colt played. But I'm not ready to give up on Ewers just yet. I want him here a complete offseason to see how he plays with someone behind him that'll push a bit harder than Card has. Again, I'm not sold on Arch yet. I'm not sure we'd want to roll into Tuscaloosa with him as our starting QB.

8-4 feels so much better than 5-7, huh? Coulda been better, but we’re better than where we were last year… and better than paying a coach $100M for 4-8, too, so there’s that.

That was a team win, even with some just shake your head mistakes they found a way to stay in it, run the freaking ball and play some defense. Bijan will be missed in the bowl game and next year as I have to think him firing the cannon was his goodbye. At the beginning of the year I thought 8-4 was a successful regular season. I would have taken it right then and there no questions asked so Texas finished right on the mark. The frustrating losses in Lubbock and Stillwater will hopefully be learning lessons for next year where a successful season has to be 10 wins and spot in the conference title game at a minimum. Now go finish off this recruiting class and build the depth Texas needs.:hookem:

Glad I stayed out of here for most part during the game. From the stands it always felt like Texas was still in control. The first scoring drive of half got us in the crowd riled up again. Some Ewers frustration but some bad protection and sus situational calls but this felt like Texas was always in control after taking the lead early. The Whitt fumble derailed a bigger butt kicking.

Finishing 8-4, and going bowling, feels so much better than 2021 team scrambling with a 4-7 record to beat KSU to finish a horrible season 5-7 ... and no bowl.

I have been hard on this team, especially the defense. But give credit to how they bounced back after spotting Baylor 9 points and then falling behind at half. And I also will say cut Ewars some slack. he is, after all, a freshman.

I will say this: that was prolly the smallest crowd of the year and they were still plenty salty. The noise of the crowds all year have been great IMO.

Trey Sanders from Alabama in the portal. Wonder if sark and the horns have any interest.
Still have keilan, brooks, blue, Baxter coming in. Not to mention Bijan. Fingers crossed!!
Let me know when a ‘Bama O-lineman enters the portal - that’s what we need.

Get those young pups on the offensive line a complete off season with time to get stronger. Ewers will look much better running the show next season.

I predicted we’d fold and I am so glad to be wrong.
We flipped the script and ran away with it in the second half, and nan does that feel good.

this is a win we can build on. Got to sort out the passing game though. one dimensional teams have a ceiling.

not surprised we won because the game was close all along.
