Texas at Tx Tech-game two

OK when did Tech's United Spirit Arena become United Supermarket Arena? Lol! That's pretty funny!
Just this season.

When the arena was built, Tech got a big donation from United Supermarkets for it. I think I remember hearing it was the largest ever single donation to Tech.

Within the past year or so, Tech got another big donation from United, and the name change was part of the deal.

 Now if this little character had a face that said "scared sh*tless", I would have posted him in that final minute. Does anyone else remember the game at Tech a few years back where we were down by 4 with like 10 secs left and we came back and won it? I thought Tech was about to finally get their revenge today!!!!
Oh yeah, I remember. I was there. 95-90 in 2OT (Highest combined score in Lady Raider history). January 16, 2010. Tech could not hang on to the ball. Up 6 with under a minute to go and every time the Lady Raiders tried to inbound, the Longhorns took the ball away from them and made a basket.
Got to the second overtime and Tech had no gas left in the tank to keep up.
Jordan Murphree and Ashlee Roberson scored 29 points each.

I must no longer understand what charge is because I was expecting blocking calls instead of charging calls on 3/4 of them (against both teams). Seems like feet were still moving, and at least one was within that circle under the basket.

Could have called several moving screen against many players, but the one no-call against Baker on Bri was atrocious.

I think that's why players struggle with it and why fans get so bent out of shape about officiating.
A little consistency is all we ask. If you're going to call it, call it the same way all the time.

Well, despite the charging calls, I'm glad our guards were penetrating and taking the ball to the basket. Still can't believe the lack of free throws at KSU and at OSU; so, I can't complain about our aggressiveness yesterday.

Always happy to get a road win - especially when they're so hard to come by for this team in conference play. They've got to quit turning the ball over their post-season will be very short. I like Fran as an announcer because she sugar coats nothing. I agree with her assessment of our offense - "unorganized." If Aston doesn't focus on this, she won't last here. As an example look at Barnes. Refuses to change his offense and as a result will soon be unemployed.

Good to see our freshman scoring like they have, BUT they also led in turnovers which TT scored from. Hopefully the good minutes in these games will help them work on those. ALL the girls need to work on those! Just relieved we got the W now on to the next!!!!

texexted, I thought for the most part the offense was okay our decision making was not. As TagHorns mentioned we turned it over to much which has always been a problem. Our guards also need to understand if you get a rebound and want to start the fast break you don't have to shoot the ball or try to get to the basket just because your in transition. Read the floor, if you have numbers attack if not pull the ball out and run offense. I also agree with you about Fran.

If Atkins never got back in the game after the nine minute mark, that is mystifying to me, unless there was some kind of injury; but I didn't see any reference to an injury in after game news. The players on the floor stretched the lead to 12, but when things started falling apart, you would think Aston would put her back in. She helps the offense and plays good D.

And, Atkins is one of if not our best free throw shooters, and can handle the ball. Didn't notice any kind of icepack or anything like that on her legs. She constantly stood up while sitting on the bench and cheered on the team.

Moooo....in reply to "Did not see Nekia on the bench; not a good sign that she didn't even make the trip"....No, she is doing well and will be back soon..(Possibly Wed.) but flying is NOT good for injuries w/ swelling, which is why Ariel didn't fly when she was injured...
Baker shoved her rather "meaty" shoulder into Bri, it was for SURE a foul on Baker, I hope the Texas staff sends video of that masher to the Official Hqrs, so they can see what a crummy job they did in officiating...This seems like a really bad year w/ some really bad calls...
