Texas coaches, your job - whether you choose to accept it or not - is to spend the next 5,000,000 hours of practice time teaching fielding fundamentals. We've gone from a fundamentally sound team that couldn't hit a nail with a sledgehammer to a team that constantly drops the sledgehammer on their foot.

Okay, no series win - next objective is to win today and leave CA with a split. Maybe the Horns can play some sound, fundamental baseball today...

Time to shake off the "yips" of the LSU afterglow, close come from behind in cold weather against UTRGVWXYZ, get up next morning at 2 a.m. for a 4 a.m. flight depart to CA, sneak out the first one, fall apart for the next two, .... time for them to go all Cool Hand Luke and "get their minds right" and win to get the split.

From SA.... T E X A S !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Horns getting drilled 9-0 in the seventh. They will take a three game losing streak home from Palo Alto. On plus side if two weeks ago you had told me the Horns were going 4-3 in their seven game stretch with LSU and Stanford I would have said done and I will take it. So long view this has been successful if somewhat disappointing end to a very tough two week stretch. It doesn’t get any easier as Horns head home to start conference play next weekend after a mid week game with Texas Southern.

Not our best effort, but have to put the weekend behind us and get ready to open conference play against Tech next weekend. Hook 'em!!

Really tough break losing Petrinski and now McCann so we are left with only Peters at C on Sunday. However, all that doesn't matter if you score zero.
