Texas at Rice

yeah, we have different opinions about that. I think Alecia will a great player at Texas but she will have to wait til Brooke graduates to be THE PG starter.

Of course, the real winner is the team for having that kind of talent at PG because having only one is not enough anymore. Which is getting Tatum Veitenheimer in 2018 or another similarly talented PG is so important.

JMO on Brooke. She's like that little mosquito that you keep trying to swat away. More often than not, that little mosquito bites you, no matter it's size.

Brooke has always been diminutive and that has always been knocked on her. But I do not believe this will be a problem. In summer AAU ball, she has played up against bigger and older players; she's used to it. Despite her lack of size, she more than makes up with her decision making. I believe decision making is the most important factor for a point guard.

Don't know if y'all caught it, Brianna Taylor started in place of Empress Davenport today. Not sure if this will hold going forward or whether this was to honor Brianna's homecoming to Houston.

I can't WAIT for Sutton to arrive. We'll have four HS All-American guards. That's going to be difficult to deal with when you add Holmes, Hosey, and Underwood to the equation. TRACK MEET!

Based on who is healthy, Brianna starting at SF in stead of Empress is the right call; glad it paid off yesterday.

Once Ariel, Brady, and Jordan get completely healthy, they could start at SF.

If Higgs gets more confidence, she could start at SG instead of Celina; but for now, Celina plays with a lot more composure and confidence. I'd still rather see Celina as the backup PG, but not a huge deal.

One of the things I noticed yesterday, when we got smaller and faster, we handled Rice much better. I think that is a real asset for this team - we can play BIG and steady and/or we can play smaller and FAST, as needed. When Ariel comes back, that speed will only increase.

This was NOT a pretty game...the posts were off, except Hattis, who was a bright spot...part of the issue is the posts getting the ball thrown at them WAY too low...Imani is 6'8", people, don't throw the ball at her waist-line...really?? We needed Brady's leadership on the floor, but I tell you, Bri was on fire and was great...Lashann & Tasia were VERY active, too!! I sure hope we play better against Tennessee, or it will be a long & sad trip East....

The post were off but they didn't attempt very many shots. I know the turnovers had a lot to do with that. I didn't watch the game but just from the numbers it looks like Rice played a sagging zone.
