Texas at Oklahoma State April 18-20

I’m pretty sure Texas has never allowed an opponent to score double digits in each game of a 3-game series. I’m kinda hoping we don’t, you know, allow that to happen today.

3 base running errors in four innings.

Do you want to be a player or a spectator?

If you want to be a player, head down and run; if you want to watch the ball in play, buy a damn ticket!

9-5 okie state headed to seventh, Horns just have a completely unreliable bullpen this year. This is a young pitching staff that just isn’t mentally strong, hopefully this season doesn’t destroy them but is a building block for next year.

Well that sucked. Texas was always taking a step back this season but the early season success had me hoping that it was a small one. Reality is when 70% of your innings are from underclassmen you are on razor edge and right now Horns are on wrong side of that edge.

Yep, we laid 3 “Easter Eggs”.....36 runs in 3 games. Has to be some sort of record in futility! In one weekend, we may have run ourselves out of post-season!

Young, I can understand and SOMETIMES accept.

Stupidity, not so much

Lackadaisical, NEVER!

Zero leadership on the field.

UT's ball clubs got their teeth kicked in by the State of Oklahoma this weekend. The women got swept by OU to make it 0-6 against OK.

Sucks, but when you have 2 pitchers; down your best infielder; and had to go to the student body for a second catcher due to injury, things are going to go sideways at best. Clements put the team on his back last season, but no backs seem to be around this season.

The lack of pitching development over the season is the big concern. That combined with opposing teams seemingly have figured out every pitcher reflects directly on the coaching staff.

Time for the obligatory blast from the past --- edit it mentally (replacing Delta House brothers with HornFans posters) as you watch and listen to Bluto's inspiring speech that ranks up there with McArthur's farewell address to Congress, Churchill's speech of "we shall fight them on the beaches, we shall fight them on the landing grounds..., " and others:

Otter:
Looks like I missed something.

Boon:
Yeah you did. We're all officially kicked out of school. Wormer just got our grades.

Otter:
They kicked US out of school? Huh, that makes sense.

Bluto:
HEY!! What's the lying around shith?

Stork:
Well, what the hell we supposed to do, ya moron?

D-Day:
War's over, man. Wormer dropped the big one.

Bluto:
What? Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until WE decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

Otter:
Germans?

Boon:
Forget it, he's rolling.

Bluto:
And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the goin' gets tough...

Bluto:
the tough get goin'! Who's with me? Let's go! C'mon!! Heyyyyy!!

Bluto:
What the f*** happened to the Delta I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? This could be the greatest night of our lives, but you're going to let it be the worst. "Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Bluto, we might get in trouble." Well just kiss my *** from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Wormer, he's a dead man! Marmalard, dead! Niedermeyer...

Otter:
Dead! Bluto's right. Psychotic, but absolutely right. We gotta take these ********. Now we could fight 'em with conventional weapons that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part.

Bluto:
We're just the guys to do it.

Boon:
Let's do it.

Bluto:
LET'S DO IT! GO!! GO! GO! GO!

Coach Pierce, on being asked what he does to prepare for WVU coming in this next weekend: "It's not about our opponent, it's about ourselves."

So at least he sees the problem for what it is.
