Texas at Houston

Boehm is back in to pitch. So much for our theories about starting him tomorrow.

Well, we can't win the series if we lose tonight...

Ballgame, 6-5 win. Boehm should still have some innings tomorrow.

What's insane, is that we are still capable of winning the conference, this conference is terrible cause we shouldn't be any where near a conference title.

Boehm went 2 innings today, and threw 30 pitches. What do you think? Up to 2 innings tomorrow?

Does he start?

I guess tomorrow, we'll probably see some of these guys: LBJ, Boehm, Tumis, Lummus, Hurley, O'Hara?

By the numbers, we need to be seeing a lot more of Lummus. Last year, he had one of the best WHIPs in the bullpen. Same thing for this year. 1.14 WHIP. And this is holding up after he throws more and more innings. Division 1 College Ball: a WHIP below 1.50 = doing pretty well.

DuPlantier is killing it on the stats sheet this year. 0.95 WHIP. 1.35 ERA. He's had some very painful moments over the last few years, but it now seems that he has arrived.

If we're keeping Boehm at reliever, then he and Dre are our top 2.

So with Fontenot gone, will we finally get to see Zaharias or Bertsch? I think we should.

I like Boehm coming out of the bullpen. He's been very successful the last few games, and if games are kept close he can have an impact on more games as a reliever.

Meanwhile, Texas A&M completely destroys Vanderbilt in the first two games. Not even a contest, Vandy has yet to score a run.

Alabama and Arkansas are in a rubber match today, if bama wins, A&M will likely be the new # 1.

OU is some kind of inconsistent, they beat Tennessee earlier in the year, then get swept by lowly Lamar, lose a series to OSU, have been beaten by DBU every time they play, swept UCF and TCU and have the series win against KSU this weekend.

We are 2 games back from the lead in the conference, WV and OU are tied at the top with 4 losses. We have 6 losses but play OU in two weeks.

*Side note: Kentucky, you know, the place Mitchell Daly transferred to, is leading the SEC right now. However, their schedule is heavy on the backend. Currently ranked 8th overall in NCAA rankings.

Mitchell is batting .272, 2 HR's, .430 OBP%, .968 fld % playing 3rd base for the Cats.

I just assumed Daly had gone to the minors, didn’t realize he transferred to Kentucky. Did we ever learn why exactly?

Texas is just about at the point where it needs to win every series left and not drop any more mid-week games if the Horns want to be a three-seed in someone else's regional as one of the last at large berths. This team has the talent to work its way into the tournament and then take a shot but the inconsistency and just mediocre play may keep that long-shot chance of suddenly finding your form in May (see Ole miss a couple of years ago who were last team in and then won it all) from ever even being a possibility.

Not sure why he transferred. I wasn’t a big fan of Daly’s offense but we could have used his defense this year. I like Kennedy but his fld% is .954 (Kennedy is only a frosh though). Daly’s offense is actually not bad this year, above .270.
