Texas at Citadel March 16, 2022

Skye Messinger has at last shaken off his slump. At least 3 hits for the big Coloradan tonight.

Anyone see thought of making Sthelhe a starter? If Gordon’s not hurt, he’ll probably stay our #3. Based on his performance, Stehle could be our #3, 4, or 5. Coach may want to keep him as our first guy in relief. Although Harrison looks capable of filling in for that role.

They may be bringing Sthele along slowly coming off the injury. I remember Hansen having really good things to say about Sthele in an interview. Good enough for him, good enough for me. And thank goodness that stretch of games is over.

Slumpbuster of a win for the team and for several individuals. Hopefully we all look back on this week that was come June and remember it for the adversity the team faced and for the way it showed this team they can take nothing for granted and need to show up every game.

Two constants from opening day through the present:

1. The bat of Ivan Melendez
2. The bat of Murphy Staley

The team didn't really find its groove last season until Pierce finally realized that Hansen was a much better pitcher than Kubichek, and made him our Sunday starter. That didn't happen until the Texas Tech series, which was the first weekend in May.

Barring injury, I can see Stehle in our top 3. Although Gordon is usually pretty good, assuming he's not hurt.

Cool (cold) photo for your enjoyment:
