Texas at AM, game 1

3 by Kat, assist by AT! Horns starting out looking good! TO called by aggy!

Totally agree sit AG down - 2 rebounds 17 min. Kris N 4 reb. 9 min. AARRGGHH!! And Kristen will shoot the ball in the paint.

41-33(?) Texas with 15+ minutes to go. So far, Chassidy has not scored in this half. got our scorer resting up a bit.

Damn, Horns couldn't handle the pressure for a couple of minutes and aggy tied up the game, 43 all.

Obviously can't see the game but don't know that everything is always readily apparent in the stat line. Yes I would like for AG to score more but I tend to agree with Babhorn, I think we need her in the game.

Horns down by 3 after Adams hits a 3. Still just under 11 minutes to go. Plenty of time to go. Sounds like they are not calling a lot of fouls. Horns need to finish strong around the basket and get the and 1 called.

was that Coach G's first technical? Really sounds like aggy is getting some calls. They are starting to pull away a bit. Up five with FTs to go.

hard to believe that with the way that aggy plays, only fouls are being called on Texas.

aggy is pulling away now.

I don't usually like to complain about officiating but agree something doesn't seem right with the calls tonight. It says a lot when GG gets a technical.

game was a lot closer than it will look. I want to see aggy in Austin. I think the result will be different. aggy will record another double figure win tonight.

Can Raven suit up!?!??! LOL!!! I saw her on the bench the other day taking stats! We need another scorer!

0 - 4. Well I said 9-7. We need a closer. 2nd half we fall apart, we don't have any post presence. Gayle had 3 rebounds. What's wrong w/ Hartung? Where's the young lady that walked on? Can we call her and see if she can play for us? Heck, Candace Parker still has one yr of eligibility left, somebody call her. LOL!! I'm talking nonsense but man this hurts.

Are there any AA JUCO posts available for us to use like today, right now?

Yea this song is getting old. A.Gayle the tallest player on the floor, and just no rebounds. And AT looked a mess along with Y.Anderson.Whats going on with the veteran players on the team.

Dear Fellow Fans,

We are in for a long short season. Somehow this team distresses me less than the teams of the last five years. They hustle. They never give up. They seem to like each other. They give up big leads without looking depressed. Kat Nash is a gamer. Chassidy is a fantastic freshman. If only we had a post game. The team cannot afford both AT and Yvonne to have bad games at the same time which is what has happened for the last 2 games. This is a jump shooting team. When they don't make them, we lose. I would love to be wrong, but this looks like a 6-10 Big 12 record - 4-12 if they are unlucky and a final four NIT team. On the road at A&M should have been a loss. On the road at MO and at home at OU should have been wins. When you lose the ones you should win, you have to win some of the ones you should lose. I don't see it happening. GG has her work cut out. I know the program was in shambles when she arrived and we have been mediocre with a small blip 2001-4 for the last 25 years, but if she cannot turn it around, who can? If I was the parent of a very smart, very talented BB player, I would send her to Stanford or Duke. If I was the parent of a not so smart, very talented BB player, I would go with TN, UConn, or if she wanted to stay close to home, Baylor or A&M. I think OSU on Saturday should be our first conference win. They are also down.

Even though I hate to see Texas lose, they have lost to the #1, #5 teams in the nation!!!!! We played OU tough. The only game we should be mad about is Mizzou!!!!! We should be 1-3 but it happens.

We need a few more players like Chassidy and then we will be competing again.

A&M and Baylor are very good teams, but Oklahoma isn't all that talented, and Missouri lost to the Ags at home by 45. Still, even with how good A&M was, we had a 43-34 lead at their building and then fell apart, and just like the OU game we suddenly couldn't execute basic passes, layups, etc.

And half the time A&M wasn't out-athleticizing us to the rebounds or getting great position despite our hard work, rather they were just going to the ball while we stood around and twiddled our fingers.

And no matter who you play, you're not going to win many games when your starting perimeter players combine to shoot 11 for 41 from the field.

DINO nailed two of the problems last night. I was there, so I had to see it up close and personal from courtside...

There is no excuse for us to get killed in the paint the way we did. I am sick of seeing someone who is 6'5" just standing in place and making no effort to get hands out and/or up and even less of an effort to crash the boards for the rebounds. And it was not just last night...the effort has just been inconsistent and far too often appears to be lackadaisical (even to include the opening tips where she is getting beat by people who have no business out-jumping her).

The momentum turned last night when we had people who insisted on dribbling around then gave it up on a TO...followed by an easy drive to the basket on the other end. Two possessions in a row like that and the crowd was back in the game...the horrible call that really went to the technical seemed to follow not long after that. Even worse was that the technical came at the media time-out which gave the crowd more time to get involved and too much time passed for the T to light a fire for the 'horns.

Yvonne and AT have ABSOLUTELY got to have more vision on the floor than they were showing the past few games. On too many possessions, both of them went to the basket wild and out of control when Cat or Chas were open on the wings. The very first possession when Yvonne got called for the charge was just one of several examples. Other times included missed opportunities to have dumped it off to Chelsea who had hustled down the court after an aggy turnover.

Texas, for whatever reason, seems incapable of putting five players on a court who KNOW how to work as a team. Further, they seem to be incapable of keeping a foot on the opponents throat...a lead at 30 minutes is NOT the time to start slowing up the offense but instead is the time to keep pouring it on.

It is going to be a LONG season and at this point, I now wonder if they can even get five wins in conference play.
