Texas A&M game

I figured Grubbs would get the start, but good for Tanner Witt. He seems to be throwing well again. On the comeback trail. Maybe we'll see Grubbs and Ace Whitehead in some long relief.

This is no regular mid-week game. The ags have a good batting lineup, and Cortez is no slouch on the mound.

I still think we'll put up 7-10 runs on them. Our bats have been on fire lately, and against some good pitching.

Depends on the lineup Pierce puts together and whether or not Brown is out of his slump for good. What's amazing, is that Thomas didn't really contribute much to this weekend, not on the level that we and he may be used to. He got 2 H's and scored 2 R's, 0 RBI's all weekend in three games. Very uncharacteristic of Thomas, arguably our best hitter.

What we saw Saturday and Sunday is what i thought this team was capable of, they are actually capable of more against probably any pitching.

What I didn't see coming is the complete failure by starting pitching and the bullpen.

So is this just another Tuesday game for us or is this DEFCON 1 after this weekend. I feel it's somewhere in between but damn I hate losing to the ags in anything.

This weekend's Tech series is probably more critical.

LHABSOB,

Please give me a reason that come Monday morning I won't be reading about going 0-7 for last ten days.

aggy is 11-0, but the best team they've played is maybe 5-6 ASU or, uh, 8-4 Incarnate Word? Of course, we've lost to the good teams we've played so...

On a side note - yikes USC at 2-9 with losses to Portland and Grand Canyon U!

Anyway, beat aggy!!

guy,

So we are in a race with USC for the "Once Was but Ain't No More" Trophy?

Witt threw 20 pitches in the top, not a great start after dealing too many pitches to start each game over the weekend as well as having this issue last year.

Cortez with a 1.82 ERA in 9 innings of work. Allows about 1 hit per inning, has struck out 14, so may allow a hit then strikes out the rest.

Schuessler at bat, 3 pitch strikeout and Cortez ends his half of the inning thrown 20 pitches as well.

Slow start, but our bats will get to them. The ags front end of their lineup is formidable—similar to ours.

What is opinion so far?

Agree with Chop on the bats...
Witt isn't able to locate his pitches still, couldn't tell which pitch it was. disappointing that we still throw so many pitches in the 1st inning. Keeps starting out behind with the first pitch and as I type this, he's 2-0 to the 2nd batter. More of the same from our pitching staff. Can't live like that and with the 3rd pitch of the at bat the kid charges it to deep CF for an out, but still can't live like that.
