[The Madcap]

the last several years i've planned out my evenings as stated above with an option A, B, and C. This always worked well up until last year...seems like there were just way too many people. I still saw a lot of good bands and was able to get into most places without waiting for too long but the sheer amount of people made it very difficult to get from bar to bar. This year I'm definitely paying cover at the door and just sticking to one venue a night...the wristband thing works well if you've got the patience and energy but last year just wore me out.

As recently as 2001, venues, even big ones like Stubbs, would stay below capcity so badge holders would not have to stand in line. When I pedicabbed SXSW in 2005, I was surprised at the number of venues that had lines for badge holders.
