Sweet 16: Texas vs UCLA

dang, thought LaShann was going to get FTs. Called for the charge instead. Horns have gone on a mini run. Brooke is on her game today. :hookem2:

7 more FTs made by UCLA (10-3) compared to Texas. Horns' D is outstanding, holding 35.5% although they are not shooting any better at 35.3% with that last miss by LaShann.

I'm sorry but women's basketball should be ashamed for allowing Geno and company to rule (or ruin) the game. He collects most of the top talent (and there is gossip about how he manages to do that, btw) leaves the rest to be parceled out and diluted among the other top tier teams in the country and wins over and over and over. His teams are not even much fun to watch. Plus, their uniforms are flat out ugly. :soapbox: That is all.

Im sorry but Geno doesnt get the top 5 players in the country every year. This isnt football. He only has what, 10 players on his roster? You think theres only a couple of stud players coming out of high school each year? And he gets both, every year? Right. Sorry I dont buy it.

The bigs are not good. That's all. Both teams will lose by 30+ to UCONN
Agree. Kelsey Lang has been very dissapointing. And the lack of a true power foward to match up with the size, quickness, and athleticism of Ucla's power fowards is really showing.

Bruins' Billings on her way to a double double with 11 pts and 9 rebs. Imani and Kelsey have combined for nine pts and two rebs.

The zone defense is not an option for us? Bruins don't seem to be a great outside shooting team....

Given how every call has gone against us, and we're out-of-sorts on offense, I'm pleased with the halftime score. There's hope for a comeback. We're a better team than we've shown in the first half.
Hook'Em!!!

Not a good game so far from anyone except Brooke. Imani has also been there with some good baskets, but there post game is certainly beating ours.

I'm betting that Ariel will come to life, offensively, in the 2nd half. And Higgs will make an impact in the last 2 quarters.

I've watched Brooke out-jump Sara for 3 rebounds thus far....then we try to force the ball into #33.....duhh......I'd play a 4 guard set vs letting #33 into the game. If Brooke can out-rebound her, why have her in the game?
Obviously, i know our 2 bigs each have 2 fouls, but, sadly, Sara is wasted space. She's just not ready to play at this level yet. She's got a great attitude, but her abilities don't add up right now. There's no advantage to her being in for defensive purposes, and there's sure no reason to have her in for offense. And NEVER force the ball into her on the offensive end of the floor.
Well you know best "coach"....

Only down by 5..I'm so not ready to end our season..Let's go Longhorns!!

great! lots more energy from everyone! Horns down only by one after that hustle play ended with a layup by Kelsey.

nice start to the fourth. but a bad call from the officials. that was a tieup. no way UCLA should have been able to call a timeout.

Billings with 10-14 FTs has doubled the number of FTs made by Texas and nearly tripled the number of FTs attempted by Texas who is 5-5 from the FT line. Shooting 100% from the FT line doesn't help if we average about a FT a period.
