Survey: 1 in 3 married American women cheat

My wife has 2 sister. One has already cheated, so it looks like I'm safe

I don't have a link. But Newsweek had an article on "Women cheating on the rise". I don't remember the figure but I thought it was closer to 40%. Maybe even 45%.

One of the reasons was more women in the work place.
 
In Asia by country for men having a mistress/straying is common.

There are whole industries devoted to making it easy - clubs/saunas/KTVs and porstitution is accepted.
 
To take the results of that "survey" and conclude that "1 in 3 married American women cheat" is an enormous stretch.
An infinitely more accurate statement would be "out of the internet users who responded to a voluntary online survey conducted by Cookie Magazine and AOL Body who claimed to be American moms, 1/3 answered yes to the question about if they had affairs”.

Actually, as unscientific (and almost useless) as voluntary online polls are, I just noticed an even more fatal flaw in this particular poll that pretty much renders the results COMPLETELY useless.

Typically online polls allow you to click “Show results for this question” if you want to see the results so far. This one doesn’t. You don’t get to see the results of a particular survey question unless you answer it, which means anyone who isn’t even really taking the poll seriously (including non-moms, non-married-women, non-Americans, and non-females) is going to just click arbitrary answers in order to see what other respondents answered.

And obviously most of those “respondents” are just going to click the first answer in the list, which in this case happens to be an affirmative for “having an affair” and “wanting more sex”, which just so happen to be the exact two questions that the article is sensationalizing.
 
Why calling out the single guy for hooking up with a married woman? She's the one who cheated on someone not him.
 
To zzzz and the other guys who rationalize it, payback is a *****. One day you'll either be on the receiving end and it won't seem so funny or you'll end up on the receiving end of a fist, or worse.
 
Didn't say I thought it was funny. Just wanted to provide some perspective to show that's it's more common than you might believe given that I was never the initiator.
 
While I can't comment as to the validity of that survey, I bet it's not too far off. I've seen even higher numbers when the survey only includes women that are in the workplace.

zzzz, I could have warned you about the reaction that you were going to get. I've made and argument here that the culpable party is the person that's cheating and I got skewered. There are a lot of people on high-horses on the webs.
 
i would never get angry at the person who is not cheating. i have been cheated on. it has nothing to do with that other person. i wouldn't hold them in high regard by any means, but they are not to blame.
 
Listen, I know you have a husband and kids at home and this could very well destroy their lives but I'm not the one that's married so **** them.
 
Damn, guys. Don't hate the playa, hate the ho. She's the one cheating. He's just providing her an outlet. Unless he's forcing himself on her, the decision is all on her. Works the same way for husbands who cheat.
 
I read somewhere that the numbers of women who had affairs has grown concurrently with the numbers of women in the workforce -- the theory being that working women simply have more opportunities for adultery than June Cleaver.
 
If you know the woman is married and you bang her, then you're an assclown.

This is not that difficult of a concept.

The woman is a bigger assclown, but that's not the point w.r.t. zzzz's behavior (and others that have done so, of course).

It works both ways, of course. If a woman knows a guy is married and bangs him - instant assclown. Sure there can be extenuating circumstances, etc., etc. But it has nothing to do with a high horse when speaking in generalities.
