Super Bowl game thread

Fitting for the land of liberals. FWIW, my grandson and his friends (about ten of them at my daughter's house) refilled their plates and contemplated who was goofy enough to dive in the pool.

So, Nashorn does not like old geezers like me expressing their opinion or he does not like old non woke geezers expressing their opinion?

On a related note the Puppy Bowl halftime was more entertaining and I am not a cat person.
Team Fluff won the Limbarksy Trophy but all puppies found forever homes.
How do you top that?

Glad the Rams won (not that I cared all that much either way), but they got a gift on that ticky-tacky pass interference call on the winning drive. Maybe it made the difference, maybe it didn’t.

They also got stiffed on that no call on the facemask that would have called back the Bengals TD.

All in all, it probably evened out. Happy for Stafford after suffering so long in Detroit.

I’m also glad for Stafford. He was very close to signing with Texas Tech. College football history in this pocket of the country may have been a lot different if he had…

I have never heard about him being interested in Tech. His dad went to Georgia & I was told he lived in Athens as a baby while his dad worked on a degree or advanced degree. I know when I asked about recruiting him, I was told it was a waste of time because he basically signed a NLI when he was two.

I would have loved to sign Kershaw, but considering what the Dodgers have paid him, I think he made the right decision.

For the record, I liked the halftime show. Both our 20 something sons liked the show as well. But, we're all classically trained pianists who enjoy all types of music. Go figure...

So, let me be the closed minded, non woke AH poster here....

Halftime "entertainment" sucked. Understand it was not aimed to entertain old geezers like me, but my 30 & 28 year old sons did not care for it either....

What did you and your viewers think of halftime?

We know what it is like to have a quaterback who must release the ball within one half second or start running for his life. I am amazed that Cincinatti made it so far without an adequate offensive line.

Wonder why these jerks give their high school name instead of the 4 year college that coached them up, housed and fed them and helped get the into the NFL. Joe Burrow could at least acknowledge that LSU for the Heisman instead of his high school.
Trey Hopkins did the same thing. I was waiting to hear him say
“THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS”, but nope it didn’t happen.

Good game. Cincy had chances to lock it up throughout the 4th and didnt.
The play sequence that will stand out to me, though, actually occured on Cincys first possession when they failed to convert or punt after a 3rd and 1 at mid field . Defense looked good to start game. Need to punt there. Rams relaxed into offense when they were starting at midfield....huge mentally to not be backed up there.
Again on Cincys next to last drive...didnt like the failed sideline bomb prayer on 2nd and 1(or 3rd and 1). Of course. there was Boyds drop. Also thought there were a couple calls down the stretch that could have helped Cincy but didnt play out that way. Either way...great game and effort overall by both teams...someone had to win and someone had to lose.

While the style of music (?) doesn't appeal to me, I thought the show was very well produced.

Great hard-hitting game, clutch plays on both sides.

Only commercial I remember is HEB.
The Jones one (Toyota trucks I think) was good...always have to appreciate when someone can display some self-deprecating humor for a check.

And it was clear from some of the whining in various forums that the meme stock generation has no clue about the original e-Trade ads. I loved the callback...complete with the driver who ALSO was representing one of the original ads.

Good game. Cincinnati staff coached about as well as they could have to keep their team in the game but ultimately the star power of LA Rams was too much. Kupp and Donald won the game in the 4th.

Rap isn't my thing either but the sound mixing was top notch, better than most super bowl half time shows I've seen. But Dre is as accomplished as they come and it was good to see him get his shot. I enjoyed the show quite a bit
