Stoops welcomes booted LSU lineman

^Um, the phrase "breaking team rules" is vague. For example, one Tennessee player was booted from the team for flipping a child off on campus, and Lynn McGruder was dealing weed out of his dorm at UT. Both were instances of "breaking team rules." Of course he broke team rules!

The rumor I've heard is that he was caught with some nose candy.

I don't know why this is a dig on Stoops. His team, which has dominated the Big XII, just got better. I'll take moves like this and wins against OU over classy losses to OU with kids who keep their noses clean (no pun intended) every time.

TN would be happy just to win. Um, you're not going to find any published reports as to the exact reason he was kicked off

Of course somebody who also roots for Tenn. would say that, c'mon, Phil Fulmer...please. The whole irony about Lynn M. was that Stoops picked up Fulmer's rubbish. THAT said a lot. If Phil kicks you off the team, wow, you have done something.

Les Miles does so only when there is no other option. Yeesh.

Glad to see they are looking to clean up the program after that whole Jarobe incident. But I guess since they also recruited the kid in high school that makes everything ok.

^Don't kid yourself. Texas has as many black eyes in recent years as Tennessee does. Sometimes you just get bad apples, and Mack and Phat Phil both respond the same way by kicking them off. I don't see how the coaches are different in this regard. Their behavior is the same.

I just don't get why it's necessary to bag on a coach for giving a guy another chance, especially when he has had your number. It's not like he's paying recruits $100,000 and buying their HS coaches new Range Rovers to come play for him.

jones and the sooners have a prior relationship, it is exactly the same as it was with lynn macgruder. they like him when they were recruiting him, he got into trouble. and because they liked him (personally) and he has ability, he will get a second chance.

some of you guys are full ****. you really are. stoops is a lot of things, including an *******. but he is NOT a win at all costs rule breaker. every situation is different. jarboe's was different than macgruder, whuch was different than the burlington heist, which was different from jarvis jones, bomar, quinn, peterson, everage, dusty.

some of you act like you have never had relationships with people outside of a message board. some people you are willing to take chances on because you think they can be good people (macgruder) and some you are not (jarboe).

AstroVol,

I have a rooting interest in the Tennessee Volunteers as well (both parents are from Tennessee and I went to boarding school in Bell Buckle, Tennessee- The Webb School). However, I got my degree from the University of Texas and thus the Tennessee Volunteers are now my 2nd favorite team. Why are the Vols still your favorite team if you got your degree from the UT-Austin?

It would be pretty boring if everyone on here thought the exact same way and posted the exact same ****. It'd be like aggy. I got no problem with Astro.

Being the smartest and almost sexiest poster on this site....I would have to say AstroVol is very welcome with his comments...

I least we(Cal) evened the score last year...

so much for the rule of starting rumors about players & not providing a link/source.

Not applicable. His source checks out and is not a rumor. There is a difference, nice try.

I just got off the phone with another LSU coach and he said, "That sucks for us. He's damn good. He's Orlando Pace good."

And then he cried a little bit too. Actually I had to hang up on him because it's pathetic to hear a football coach cry like that.
