WOWI was thinking about how they emphasized Staley's 51-game conference streak being broken by Texas.
Hmmmm, seems to me I remember Texas having a 10-year 183 SWC conference streak from Jan 1978 - Feb 1990.

I remember going to games and thinking, "these teams already know they lost before they pull up to the Erwin Center"
I disagree that anything going on here is "cringe". Most of us have been stating the obvious. The last five games, Justice has been mostly absent. Only Vic and Justice know the real reason for that. In any event, it's more than apparent that she's not earned the playing time as Lee and Stewart. Hopefully, she will improve her game and be around for a long time.Anyway I guess I’m saying this narrative some people are trying to create about Carlson is a bit cringe. Little early to do that with a freshman none of us know well. I do know people would be a little more chill if AMo was healthy.
Stewart?I disagree that anything going on here is "cringe". Most of us have been stating the obvious. The last five games, Justice has been mostly absent. I'm not trying to "create a narrative", but merely making an observation. I also mentioned that it can take a year or two to adapt to Vic's system. You were quick to throw an adjective out there. Any other thoughts?I thought I remembered talk of how good justice was defensively back on the recruiting threads. Vic’s system takes some learning. I think she’ll be ok. It seems like she’s always getting into the passing lanes for deflections during her playing time this season TO ME.
I’m not worried about Justice like some are (which doesn’t make me right). But I missed the part where Vic said it was energy & effort. I’ve also not interpreted facial expressions the same as some. I’m seeing a lot of game face. Remember when people suggested maybe Oldacre wasn’t happy here because of her game face? I was glad when Rebecca Lobo made the observation(s) that Kyla has one of the best game face games in the business. I’ve never been a fan of telling a woman to smile btw.

Hopefully she and her family stay away from this pessimist board....geezI disagree that anything going on here is "cringe". Most of us have been stating the obvious. I’m sorry I was absolutely not accusing you of creating a narrative whatsoever that’s why I didn’t quote your post. I didn’t think your post was doing that at all and if you’ll re-read my post with that in mind I think you’ll see I wasn’t referring to you. I basically was agreeing with you about it taking awhile to adjust to Vic’s defense. Sorry for this misunderstanding.I'm not trying to "create a narrative", but merely making an observation. Sorry, that was definitely a Freudian slip if there ever was one!Stewart?
Hopefully she and her family stay away from this pessimist board....geez
Wow, how can a sentence that starts with "hopefully" be considered pessimist?Hopefully, she will improve her game and be around for a long time.
Exactly!Wow, how can a sentence that starts with "hopefully" be considered pessimist?![]()
Well said... I agree... and I am also rooting for Justice Carlton big time!Yep. That was me.
I stand by my post, but I also stress that I am 100% rooting for Carlton to have a great career on the 40 acres.
Hunter scored 27 points in an early non conference game and then saw very limited minutes the rest of the season, often looking a bit out of sorts when she did see the court.
Carlton had a 30 point game early in non conference play and has then seen limited minutes the rest of the season. When she has seen the court we have all noticed that she seems to be struggling.
I stand by the rest of my post as well - I hope the similarities end there. I wish Justice all the best. I mean that sincerely.
Sorry if that sentiment offends some.
