South Carolina @ Texas 02/09/2025

Guess you didnt watch the part of the game wher SC was down 9 and came back to tie it.
Granted I was expecting it to occur in the first period.
Tex responded as well as you would want by retaking the lead and holding it.
Sorry, but no

Guess you didnt grasp the post. I stated" We're gonna get punched in the mouth so get set for that. Recover and just play basketball. "

We did just that.
Doubling down on an inaccurate post :facepalm:And that’s coming from me who said we would crush them on the road. Punched?Really? SC never led and never had a run greater than 6 that went unanswered. Pinched maybe but there was no punching.

They came back from 9 down to tie the game. Thsts a punch. Most teams would have crumbled. We didnt.

6 unanswered points is not a punch in any stretch of the imagination. We’ve all posted things that did not pan out. Own it and move on. We just knocked off #2.

THANK you for taking the time to post presser. We see clearly over and over and over how smart CDC was to hire him. He creates a bond of trust and confidence with our players that is unrivaled.

thought Dawn was pretty homest

Who is saying anything about 6 points ? They came back from 9 to to tie it. Taking a punch like that from SC , many teams would have collapsed at that point. We didnt.
We recovered and just played basketball. So yeah it did "pan out".And damned if we didnt win.

We beat number #2 and are inching closer to clinching a #1 seed.

I remember hearing from the announcers that when Oldacre came on her recruiting trip that she just didn't want to talk to the coaches, she wanted to watch practice. From the comments she made, did she run a few plays with the team? She said that right there practice, Vic "improved" part of her game while she was there - which led her to chose Texas.

I remember the famous story of Jamie Carey considering transferring to Texas and she suited up and played with the team and was yelling at the posts to get to their positions as if she were the start PG.

 Sure. Sure. I hope we get “punched” some more.

I thought Dawn was very candid and very classy... she and Vic share a huge mutual respect for one another.

Maybe the tide is finally beginning to turn against the antiquated reffing in the women’s game. Coaches and even announcers are beginning to really speak out. Dawn Staley’s interview to open the second quarter was spot on. Fans tuning in want to see the players make plays.

I think it would drastically change the game (and that's probably good and bad) but I don't know why reviews can't be expanded and challenges can't be initiated.

The atmosphere in Moody was fantastic today! Announced crowd of 10,517

Fun times!!! (PLUS that win made my drive back to Dallas much, much better)
Had lunch next to two decked out Gamecock ladies. Asked if they were from S.C. and they said no, Dallas. One of you drove back with a smile on your face and the other, not so much.

Dawn Staley presser

Don't know her very well, but she showed a lot of class in that presser. Didn't throw her players under the bus. Just stated what they couldn't do in this particular game.

I guess you don't have to be an egotistical sea witch to win multiple NC.

Also, there was that play where we inbounded to Shay under our basket and she scored an easy layup. I noticed the SC assistants both erupted in disgust and were shouting down the court at their players. Just like ours would by letting a lapse like that (like our 3 point defense today!)

I thought the refereeing was fine. In the first half, refs kept physicality under control. In the second half, let em play more and players decided the outcome. Oldacre was fouled on her late fourth quarter play. And on last play, Holle was hip-checked on the screen at the elbow. Then Lee’s contesting of the SC shot that went over the background was a no-call. In first half all three of those plays would have been a foul call. Not so late. Both coaches like that approach and I didn’t hear any whining from Staley or Schaefer. Refs did a good job in my fair and biased opinion.

Three cheers for Jak. 8 points on perfect shooting, a good handful of rebounds, and other positive impacts on the game.

She is an excellent role model for a player like Justice - proof that hard work and patience pay off.
