Hell, this is more interesting than much of last season. Keep it going.
And after tomorrow, we will need to start looking at 2016 recruiting and the 2015 Spring scrimmage and who will stay and who will go over the Summer and if a Grad transfer QB will show up and whether all the recruits make it in in August and on and on and on.......
It's like our whole team is tweeting at PJ Locke, and he is actually rather touched by it. Amazing how much of recruiting Kai Locksley is doing. The kind of things Gentry would have never done, I feel. This guy Locks has some charisma about him, really. How does he know all these guys, sitting in DC? Locks and Cecil Cherry are all over PJ Locke, to flip from Oregon. Boyd also tweeted at Locke. Malik was one of the first, when he tweeted to PJ Locke, "hmu" (means "hit me up" in kids' twitter)
One of the recruiting reporters has now called PJ Locke a lock. Well, if Locks in on Locke, Locke must be a lock
By the way, I think none of us talked about it earlier, but there were reports ever since Soso became serious with us 2 weeks ago, that the main guy who was pushing Soso to UCLA was actually his private RB trainer, David Underwood. Apparently that dude hates Texas for whatever reason (he's a guy from Madisonville, TX, who went to Michigan as a national top-100 recruit in 2001 but didn't do much there. Some say that he was also training RB Stevenson, who decommitted from us; but I'm not sure).
On the other hand, apparently many on the Plano West HS staff are very pro-Texas.
Bobby Burton of horns247 said something cryptic about 3 hours ago - "The trainer angle for UCLA and Jamabo may backfire. The trainer is no longer allowed on campus by district rules". Meaning, something is up with regard to that trainer, and that may backfire on UCLA. Not sure what. [My guess is that the parents want Soso closer to home and is not happy with whatever the trainer is feeding Soso. Just a wild guess] ....
Anyway, something did change on the Soso situation today and it was in our favor. Whether that is enough to turn him to our side or not, is anybody's guess.
Going into the 11th hour, Soso is still saying it's UCLA to those close to him. So says 247sports. So, again, don't have high hopes. The parents are hopefully still working on him....
Though Texas coaches and commits weren't going down without a fight, it does not seem like the smoke is thick enough as we get to night time, on a possible change of heart in Soso or Lodge. My feeling is only for a 25% chance on each, but worth watching tomorrow. Don't keep much hope.
I am looking for Warren. Hopefully one from from among Newsome, Baker and Reed would also join him. Getting 2 of those 3 would make my day. I also expect Locke to be official by tomorrow.
There is an outside chance for Locksley's friend, national top-125 4-star DB Marcus Lewis, to delay his announcement (which would be a great indication that we are in it for him). Locksley is still working on him, it seems. As he hasn't even done an OV to us, I just don't see him selecting us though DC repoorters say he is deciding between UK, Miami, FSU and Texas.
