So who do the HF gurus think is coming?

He appears to me to be a very smart individual who is covering all the bases. Looks like he is trying to find an alternative to Texas so that he has a real choice to make on signing day. Thus, Texas looks like the default position unless something better comes along. Just my 2 cents.

So Higdon just tweeted this:

20-26-35-36-38

Some followers headed over to scout and noticed those numbers corresponded to the 'interest' number for the following players on Scout:

Chris Brown
Jean Delance
Jeffrey McCulloch
Eric Cuffee
Brandon Jones

If we land Wilbon, Giles and Taylor at DT, which is at least possible, then we will be looking much better.
Add Elliott or Williams or even Daniels to those 3 and we suddenly look pretty solid
I will be impressed if this happens

"Four-star LB Dontavious Jackson: Texas coaches ate all my mom's Texas chili during my in-home visit #HookEm"

So is that good or bad?

I am going to say good, just so long as they left before the gases had time to form.

Last year, they ate all of Lampkin's mom's gumbo too. He did sign, but it still didnt end well

It's my opinion that if this class turns out as good as last February's and the freshman make as much an impact on the field then I'd be ok retaining Charlie almost no matter what; I know there are some scenarios (coaching on the field) that could arise that would make me eat these words but this program is very young and it's almost impossible to believe they will make a quantum leap forward what with a new offense and all. We'll see what happens...

We do not need to waste time or offers on guys who will not qualify. I don't advocate doing what Mack did, but we have to make sure the studs we recruit can get in school.

Which partially explains Jones to Bama

Michigan 247 thinks they have Delance

"Steve Lorenz -- Some new information has come to light, and I am going to put in a 247Sports Crystal Ball for Top100 offensive tackle Jean Delance to Michigan.

Talked to a source close to his recruitment on Tuesday morning that informed me Delance gave some very strong indications that he plans to choose the Wolverines during the Under Armour All-American game on Sunday. As Steve Wiltfong and others have reported recently, Texas appears to be on the outside looking in with LSU and Michigan the two programs both of those programs believe he may be favoring. ...."

They also concede the mother will still be a factor

Billi Lucci admitted on a radio show they are out of it for Cuffee
And aggy had lost ground to Texas on Jones and McCulloch

said we are most likely going to lose Cuffee to tu and lost major ground with McCulloch and Brandon Jones.
How can a 5-7 tu get a shot at these guys and a 8-4 A&M loses ground.

Reason they are losing, aggy is a four letter word, and mommas' don't like four letter words.:D

Coincidence maybe?

Steve Wiltfong responds to Lorenz (see above)

"..... Steve Lorenz made a 247Sports Crystal Ball forecast in favor of Michigan on Tuesday morning for Top100 offensive tackle Jean Delance. I’m not there yet but I could easily see it as I’ve been reporting that since his December visit Michigan was at worst in the top two. I still think a couple things need to be ironed out before he’s a Wolverine."

Does Momma know about this? If not, Momma ain't going to be happy.

Holland at the UA Game says Jordan Elliott was a "hot topic of conversation" on Tuesday eventhough he is not even there. According to "sources," there is still a chance Elliott could sign with someone other than Michigan. Also, Jeffrey McCulloch and Dontavious Jackson stay in constant contact with him.

Also some practice report notes --

"-- McCulloch moves extremely well for a 6-foot-3, 230-pound backer. It’ll be fun to watch him thump once they really start hitting.

— Off the hoof, the linebacker group of Lyndell Wilson, Dontavious Jackson and Ben Davis looks more like a college All-American position group than one that is only in high school."

The Texas-related sites seem to be sticking with Delance to Texas. Holland (I think it was Holland) even suggested Delance was just having some fun with the process.

We need to have a contest to guess the number of "hat games" we'll see this year before or on NSD. You know the drill, the schmuck that puts 2 -13 school hats on a table or pulls the chosen hat out of his butt and makes his selection by putting on the hat of his school of choice on national or local TV. Should be close to time for them to be ramping up. [And yes, I do think that is lame bulls#@t!!). We could have another contest to guess the number of those dorks doing the "press conference" announcement, that are busts in college. That would take awhile to determine.

Where Will Texas Rank?... I can’t even remember how long I have maintained this class ends up in the Top 10 on NSD... If I feel things overall were going sideways or starting to slide the wrong direction I will let you know as soon as possible. I am far from that time and in fact, I am as confident as ever.

Are there some things with a few big time kids on the board that needs to be sorted out? We have 35 days or so until NSD, and this is when things must get sorted out, or you die trying.

This is the greatest time of the year for me and the worst. It’s the time when things come together but also the time where nasty rumors pop up. Nothing this time of year NO matter how ridiculous or crazy it sounds can be ignored. That is important for everyone to remember.

It is also important to remember as a general rule of thumb a few things. You will lose someone you don’t expect and land someone you don’t expect. It’s just part of the recruiting process. I am not saying this with one recruit or two in mind, just saying overall. I am telling you now, Texas is not going to land everyone on the board. Some big time players on the board will opt elsewhere, expect it because I am telling you now so when it happens you are prepared.

This sounds like it came from HD's Higdon, but I don't know for certain.
