So how did you pick your user name?

A = Amicus

Amicus Curiae = friend of the court

Also a holdover from Austin360/hookem.com. I went by a different username until the boards on 360/hookem died (or something like that). Then I dropped my old username here and started using the 360/hookem name. This was a long time ago. Wow...nearly 6 years ago.

Fairly simple with me. First part, of course, is my addiction to University of Nebraska athletics, for which there is no cure for me. As for the second part, when I began posting here, I resided in "The Livable Forest" aka Kingwood, TX. I have since moved back to Lincoln, but the SN remains.

Let me tell you a story. I once knew a guy who could've been a great golfer. Could've gone pro. All he needed was a little time and some practice. He decided to go to college instead. He went for four years. Did pretty well. At the end of his four years, his last semester, he was kicked out. You know what for? He was night-putting. Just putting at night...with the 15-year-old daughter of the Dean. You know who that guy was?

Back in 99 when I joined I was avidly into acquariums and fish. I also wanted a unique looking name, so I looked at my acquarium full of African cichlids and spotted a tropheus, and thought that was it.

a pic of one in that genus... small little ******** but tough as nails.

Okay, mine is very obvious, and now, not very original.

But, I would like to say that Vince Young's record as starting college QB was 0-0 when my wife picked the name, and I took over her account. After the 03 OU debacle, we had things we wanted to rant about, but it seemed like there was only one bright spot. Vince was worth the ticket, even on that day.

So, in a way, "original."

i created my username back in school, when my major was world domination. i'm not in that field any longer. the hours sucked and i didn't have enough time for this site.

Despite rumors to the contrary, I have never torn my ACL.

I was logging in, trying to come up with a user name, when Sportscenter mentioned someone being out with a torn ACL.

I said, hey, that works.

According to my little brothers and all their friends... I was the mean older brother. It was either Big Dummy or Chet. I hear them both all the time.

When I was attending Texas in the mid-90s, there was a white wall that ran along the north side of 24th street, around San Gabriel, I believe. Someone had spraypainted on that wall the phrase "Avenge King," i.e., Martin Luther King. Some cheeky mofo came in later and added "Tut" on the end; you could tell, because the color of the paint was slightly different. I always thought that was funny, and wanted to come up with something both unique and relevant to my time on the 40 acres.
