New York (CNN Business)Following the huge success of "The Last Dance" and renewed discussions about systemic racism in America, Disney is partnering with one of the most notable voices in the country: Colin Kaepernick.
The company announced a production deal with the former NFL quarterback turned activist on Monday. The first project between the two will be a docuseries from ESPN Films about Kaepernick's life and journey from San Francisco 49ers quarterback to civil rights leader.
"Using extensive new interviews and a vast never-before-seen archive that documents his last five years, Kaepernick will tell his story from his perspective," Disney said in a statement. The company did not announce when the series would air.
Disney (DIS) also said the deal would focus on "telling scripted and unscripted stories that explore race, social injustice, and the quest for equity." It will also "provide a new platform to showcase the work of Black and Brown directors and producers."
They ruined Star Wars
I just mean, if you recall, the way the whole cast stopped what they were doing to lecture soon to be VP Pence when he took the time to go see their stupid play. People feigned outrage, but many if not mot of those are people went ahead and paid for tickets to see that crap performance anyway.I won't ever watch Hamilton. Hamilton was a fiend. No reason to glorify him or give him the time of day.
I won't ever watch Hamilton.
Not only that, but it has bizarre sexual innuendo and homosexual overtones that, IMHO, had nothing to do with the story. Very bizarre.I won't watch Hamilton either because it's part of the cancel culture. Erase the deeds of white guys by portraying them as minorities. Changing history to fit their narrative.
Disney certainly didn't help the franchise, but if you ask me, anything after Return of the Jedi was crap!

And now Seattle has created mandatory Racial sensitivity training camps for all white emploees
..might as well toss Oregon and the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia while we're at it.we should kick Washington out of the Union.
TRUE!!!..might as well toss Oregon and the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia while we're at it.
Why is there a statue of Lenin in Seattle? Who put that up? When? They should be arrested. Either that or we should kick Washington out of the Union. No Commies in the Union.
Maybe we can extend the wall from the Rio Grande all the way up the western border to Dalhart to keep people from moving here from the West Coast.I am tempted to encourage the folks to get out of there, but they will probably move to Austin
I thought it was interesting because it used smart rap to tell a true-ish narrative about a "creole bastard" that we all thought was just an old white guy. It kind of flipped it around that he was the one from the cast that was different than the rest. The other players are all black while he's Peurto Rican. In actuality they're all white but Hamilton is a creole bastard. I've listened to it 15 or so times. Good stuff. It seems pretty bipartisan to me.I won't watch Hamilton either because it's part of the cancel culture. Erase the deeds of white guys by portraying them as minorities. Also, when the cast spoke to VP Pence they only did so after the show and I thought it was respectful, as did VP Pence. I think the Aaron Burr character read the following statement.
"You know, we have a guest in the audience this evening. Vice President-elect Pence, I see you walking out but I hope you hear just a few more moments. There's nothing to boo, ladies and gentlemen. There's nothing to boo. We're all here sharing a story of love. We have a message for you, sir, we hope that you will hear us out."
"And I encourage everybody to pull out your phones and tweet and post because this message needs to be spread far and wide. Vice President-elect Pence, we welcome you and we truly thank you for joining us here at Hamilton: An American Musical. We really do."
"We, sir, are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us: our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir. But we truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and to work on behalf of all of us. All of us."
They still going
The wife and I watched but about 20 minutes in I realized I just can’t get into musicals at all. I tried.I'm sorta undecided about Hamilton, because I haven't seen it.
