Shriners Classic.............

Hammer,
You and Chop are much more knowledgeable baseball guys than I will ever be. You are both are more patient & know this team much better than I do.

My verbose and sophomoric narrative tonght was mostly to keep the posters that couldn't see the game relatively informed.

Bottom line, we all had fun watching the #1 Horns win vs. a top ranked opponent to go to 11-0.

Ahh, makes sense. You were channeling your inner Bob Uecker.

I replayed it 10 times. Crossed at the knee and was actually on the edge of the plate.
The batter lowered his front knee a little during his 1/4 swing as the ball crossed the plate. The knee basically went down 1-2 inches as the ball dived at the plate.

Just finished watching it on a recording.

Another great job by our #1 in the Nation pitching staff. A masterful performance by Stevens with 7 innings of scoreless work. Harrison got it done in the end with another good outing. And how about Hodo.

All in all, we just spanked yet another one of the SEC’s top dogs.

VICTORY!!!

:ut::ut::ut:

Hodo, Kennedy and Melindez are going to be even more deadly as Big Ivan turns on.

Older LSU fan in front of us said, “4-0 we won’t come back from that, this game is over.” And dude left.

Never saw him again.

I ended up going to the game and it was pretty electrifying to watch. Hodo's bomb off the wall was a serious blast. The stress at the end was odd with Pierce leaving Duplantier in the game. I kept thinking Pierce was trying to see if he has "it" to be a weekend guy next year or in case there is an injury later this year.

Anyway, y'all explained the game in the thread but I was sitting about 6 seats away from a guy who kept shot gunning beers from his shoe. The crowd kept chanting "shoey" then someone explained he was at the CWS last year doing this and was caught on TV so thus the nickname. It was pretty gross because he would literally take his shoe off his foot to do it. Not sure how I missed him last year but maybe we'll have an encore as the season goes on.

Another great win Horns!!

:hookem:

Thanks for the updates, everyone. It's annoying that I can't seem to find the game anywhere on a Grande Communications fiber system in Austin, so can't watch it. Have the MLB channel but it's blocked out.
Go to YouTube.
Search for "Astros channel"
Click on the live stream of the game and watch away.

Is anyone in the ballpark now? Is the roof open? My better half is asking before we head out to the park. Some things are just real important.

So Tennessee came in undefeated with the #1 scoring offense in college baseball. We paddled them 7-2 and then they beat Baylor and OU by a combined 18-5 score to finish the tournament 2-1. Trying not to get too over-hyped that we really are this good.

This is the best Texas team I have ever seen. Wait till end of season when our younger relief pitchers get some seasoning.

In the MLB app, they are showing it for free. No need to sign in nor sign up.

I was just able to download the MLB app to my iPad, and then "Screen Mirror" to my big screen "Smart TV"... guess I'm sort of happy I figured that out, but it was a lot of hoops to jump through.
