Seastrunk: 'Texas is in'

It's been a while since I posted anything concerning Seastrunk, and I doubt I'll say anything after this.

He comes to UT?...very good news. He goes somewhere else?...good luck to him. I haven't heard Seastrunk slam us, and he's smart to look at all of his options and find the best fit for himself. No fault in that...matter of fact, I think some people around here wear their feelings on their sleeves where recruiting is concerned if a player doesn't commit by the end of April.

I don't get that Mack's backed off of wanting Seastrunk...I do get that he's giving him time and room to decide for himself what he wants. Mack knows, and we should too, that UT is gonna be fine, no matter where Seastrunk decides to spend his next three or four years. We already have a great class committed, and no one player is gonna make or break this class...even one as talented as Lache Seastrunk.

If you go looking for your heart's desire, don't look beyond your own backyard. Because if it's not there, you never really lost it in the first place.

There truly is no place like home!

"It's not a place you can get to by boat or train. It's far, far away. Behind the moon, beyond the rain."

or, rather, "class"

he's dancing a bit, but he's a young kid. so far so good, good luck to him

What I noticed from watching the video was how he high lights up on mention of LSU.

It's a long way from signing day, but it doesn't look good for us.

He is stringing us along... don't get your hopes up. We will end up at Alabama aggy or Les State Univ.

It appears Texas is not recruiting him hard form the video.

Texas will be fine.

Of course LSU would love to sign him, but it is still a long way to signing day and much can happen.

“who cares until all the LOI faxes are recv'd in Feb 2010.”

Lacke is on track to graduate in December, so there will be two less months of this.

He’s a quality young man and the speculation can end now. When you spot him at DKR Texas Memorial this season, try to be decent.

It also wouldn’t hurt to wear UT gear and show up at-

Scrimmages-
8/21 @ Cedar Park Vista Ridge
8/27 Pflugerville Connally
Season-
9/04 Cedar Park
9/11 @ Leander
9/18 @ Plano
(District)
9/25 A&M Consolidated
10/02 @ Copperas Cove
10/09 Ellison (Killeen, TX)
10/16 Harker Heights
10/23 @ Bryan
10/30 Belton
11/06 @ Shoemaker

(And a likely run in the playoffs.)

Don’t be surprised if Derrick Davis is the leading rusher for the ‘Cats this season either. No one will be spied like Lacke will be this season. It gets underway here tomorrow.

I'm sure Mack would be happy if L.S. came here and I'm just as sure he'd be ok if he went elsewhere. Mack and his program does not hang on every word a recruit says. There are other fish in the sea.

I feel about the same way except that in my words I really don't care which way he goes.

I am amazed at the number of people who "know" things so matter of factly.

At this point I don't feel good about UT's chances of signing him, but for me, or anyone who doesn't have his confidence, to make unequicocal statements about his future is ludicrous.

Thanks Scipio. Nice stretch. Nearly signature quality stuff there.

Speculation about Lacke’s character can end. He’s been clean so far and because he hasn’t committed yet shouldn’t signal an open season on the kid.

There’s no word here locally as to where he’ll end up and I don’t know where he’ll end up either.

Lacke said in the interview that he would be at Texas games this fall, so don’t be an *** around the kid if any of you should encounter him. I’m concerned about what some of you are capable of, sober or not.

The apology.

When did Texans get thinner skins than Alabamians? Lacke has got a lot of catching up to do to be #1 in jawing. (And that it’s a 1,600 mile round trip between Temple and Auburn, AL. The closest SEC outpost is nearly a 900 mile round trip from Temple.)

As for guys from wherever, unless they make public comments, are offered up in legitimate print or broadcast media or by a person (or persons) going on the record, you’ll get nothing from me.

Dusty, is there any word there locally that anyone other than his family and HS coaches are advising Lache during his recruiting process?

Sorry Austin180, could you repeat the question…

Oh and-

L-a-c-h-e

I’m an extraordinarily imperfect person. It’s all that pissing into the wind. But then no one has directly called me out about this either.

Ask this guy-

He’s the local beat writer for Temple Wildcat football. See if you can get him to ask the question no one dares speak.

There’s nothing here that any Dick Lowe types have been seen in Temple. With greatlache.com/webcam offline, it’s made it far more difficult to keep up with who is around the kid.

UT is well represented in an unofficial manner in the halls of THS and around town in general. Over a decade ago that wasn’t the case as it was TAMU wall to wall. That and the Foundation members here know to stay the hell away.

So yeah, he’s gotten an earful since he was a sophomore, but no reports here of unusually suspects that appear to be advising him.

As pointed out when Lache comes to visit for his gameday be very polite and encouraging. Stress the we would love you to come to UT and go into college football legend here with the awesome classes we have.

From the link above, it doesn't seem that Lache said anything all that bad about Saban. And the fact that Lache even bothered to call Coach Saban to apologize is pretty classy for a high-school age kid.

Hopefully Mr. Seastrunk will give Texas an honest look. If he does, the Horns should have an opportunity to land him. And if not, best of luck to him wherever he decides to go to school.

If Lache had to decide today he would not pick us, in my worthless opinion.
But if we make it to the NC game, I think we get him.
