Scottie F'n Scheffler!

Pressure to perform in front of your peers is greater than the money, crowd, and television audience. This tournament is really about performing in front of your peers.

You can say that about every tournament honestly. The Dell Match Play certainly counts based on your criteria though and Scheffler has won that the last two times.

Awesome story on Texas, the state and university, golfers at The Masters on Live From The Master on Golf Channel.

From Byron Nelson, Ben Hogan, Ralph Guildhal, and Jimmy Demaret up through Ben Crenshaw, Jordan Spieth, and Scottie Scheffler. Others were mentioned as well, but they seemed to pay particular homage to Longhorns.

Also gave a very good history of my hometown Fort Worth and the important part it and Glen Garden played in the history of golf.

Pretty cool. :hookem2:

Damn, wish I saw that !

GGCC, my old stomping grounds. Narrow fairways (not a lot of trees tho) small greens that were fair. Short course. Required good iron play for sure.

Scottie was leading starting off the day. Now 15 under, 3 rd playing Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney... about 3 miles from my humble abode.

Scottie struggling today....

Bill bradford was the managing pro there shortly after we joined. He didn't like me, I didn't like him. His son was younger than me. Total brat. Put the kid in his place finally, dad didn't like it.

Never got to play there.. one of my best friends from HS and his Dad played GGCC every weekend for years.

Sad, GG ended up in a slowly declining part of town in FW. Declining membership followed and eventually the course died.

Southwest HS class - 1972 had our 50th reunion at the Whiskey Ranch on the grounds of former GGCC last fall. FIRST CLASS place.

That area declined rapidly around 1975. By the mid 80s the turnover was almost complete. My mom moved out in 76 , hated to leave her home in rolling hills (could see the entire city from our living and dining room) but it was time. Of the guys I ran around with, all their families were gone by 1980

I remember 3 SWHS girls at GGCC. All very hot, very nice, would be at the GG pool in the summer. Good days man. Good days.

Hope Scottie can close the deal. Interestingly, Paul McGinley of the Golf Channel — who picked SS to win — doesn’t think he is playing up to Scottie’s standards and that his judgment, usually impeccable, has been off.

I expect someone to post a very low score today early. Just a guess that Agusta will soften the greens. A 65 wouldn’t surprise me.

Yee Haw another birdie on 16. 11 under:trophy:
Duke I am sure you are happy for Scottie no matter what that talking head said.
How many Masters has Paul won?

I liked how Scottie made sure his caddy who was still carrying the 18th green flag got to walk up wuth Scottie to all the cheering.
Sabre
What is the name of that bank?
