Sam’s Injury

I understand that Herman wants to redshirt Shane this year but why haven't we seen one of the frosh QBs take a few snaps before?
I would like to have seen that as well, but when? The only “breathers” (?) we have had were late in the USC and TCU games. I think TH was wise not switching SE out, and if he had, it would have been for SB.

In the Baylor and ISU games, there was no opportunity to play anyone other than Buechele.

Actually, funny guy, I sent him a message on Twitter telling Herman how he should approach Friday's game. He replied almost immediately! Yea, that's right.

He respectfully said - Ok, cool. Hook "Em!

So don't be so quick to underestimate the willingness of this staff to listen.

Isn't this like the coin toss in the '69 or'70 aggie game where our player said, "It don't make a ****, we're going to win anyway."?

It's KU. For the love of Gawd.

Uh, that ship sunk and sorry, but it does still hurt. Now it's something to not forget so nobody gets complacent.
Guess what I was saying, and the humor must not have come across, is we are vastly improved and back to where we don't lose to Gawd forsaken rock chalk in football.

Agree 100%.
I rarely second guess, try to stay positive, but there should have been a plan for this.
But on second thought, when would we ever have a true freshman backup thrown into a big game?

Orangebloods reports that Sam threw on Tuesday, but saw limited duty. He did not take the majority of the snaps. They say that he'll throw more today, if his shoulder continues to improve. Sounds positive to me.

Aggravating an existing injury doesn't sound like something that gets significantly better in a week, but I’m not a young stud football player. I just hate to see Sam’s health possibly compromised when we still have bigger goals in front of us and will need him at full capacity.

His name was Bill Bradley; referee was Vince Buckley, after whom The SWC Buckley Rule was named and President of Dow Chemical.

Taking my name in vain, huh?!?:yippee: Though we share the same last name, no relation. I went to school with VB’s son Bruce. His dad was a great guy. BTW, my future 5th generation Longhorn grandson turns 1 today...yay! Happy Thanksgiving to all you guys!

If Sam is well, and can play at full strength and full skill level, then I agree

It was said in one of the pressers this week that no one who is playing is 100% this time of the year and that everyone is dealing with some sort of pain. It was also said that you don't stop practicing hard just because the players are sore and hurting as long as they aren't injured and that they have to learn how to work through that mentally to build in toughness. I'm pretty sure if there is no risk of further injury by throwing and Sam is capable of playing he will.

I still remember the presser after a cold and rainy loss to Rice when Mackovick said something like "Well, you can't beat Rice every year you play them". Yeah John, you can. So that loss to Kansas will stick with me for a while too.

I was happy we lost to Kansas both during the game and after. Only way we were going to get rid of Charlie that year and I couldn't take another year of his deer in the headlights look.

1968 aggy game. Sr. captain Bill Bradley at the coin toss when ref asked him his choice said:

Ah, it don't make a s***, were gonna kick their ***!

And the Horns won 35-14 IIRC - and it was not as close as that score would indicate....

yeah, i think we should all be clear, that 100% is about injury. not "hurt" or "soreness." that should be the point related to an injured throwing shoulder on a QB.

I saw something about this on the Internet - but I'm not sure what it means. I've boiled it down to a) You have much to teach me, and I'm going to take your suggestion to heart and turn over a new leave; or b) Go screw yourself. It's a little ambiguous...
Point of Parliamentary Procedure: That's"Turn over a new leaf"
Everything else is correct. :D
