Thanks NB gametracker was really messed up that inning all around then. Either way, not a good early season loss for the Horns. In years past I wouldnt sweat loss like this but after last year it is a bad sign.
One of those ugly type losses that the Horns could
have easily won. We have to scratch out the runs.
So the pitching has to be very good and the fielding
must be excellent or we lose.
We need some power hitting from somebody. We
have to get three singles to score a run many times
and that can be difficult.
It looked a lot like last year and these are the type of
losses that got us in the position last year that left
us out of the NCAA's.
We seem to have several good arms added to the
pitching staff and they should be very good.
I thought the bats would be much better this year and maybe they will in time as it's early, but these
kind of games that seemed to start with the 8th inning of last night's game just give you that bad
feeling from last season.
We can hope that Nicholson will improve our batting just as he
did with today's opponent, but it will take time. Jitters could have
accounted for much of the first games' errors, etc. Stay positive.
