Rich in country or middle class in city?

I'd take #1. If both husband and wife bring in 50-70K each, that's plenty of money to take nice vacations and live well in the city-- maybe not New York, but definately Austin.

Rich in the county is an exact description of my best freind and his wife. They tried the city (with the same results as the OP suggested) and chose the country. They both grew up in small towns so it works for them. They make enough to travel frequently also.

I could not possibly live where they live. I consideed it and ultimately had to be honest with myself. I would have been miserable. Everything I love, even my outdoor activities are in the city.
