Rice, Rice, Rice!

I like how Sam kept going back to Jake despite his bobbles and drops the first 2 games. You just knew it was going to work out

I like how Jake threw up the horns right after that first TD. This Arizona kid has taken to the culture in a hurry.

Also, his second TD where he ran to the pylon and snuck in the corner of the end zone — his quick burst after the catch was amazing. He seems to always be at full speed.

Danny Young looked noticeably leaner, lighter, and quicker than last year. Good to have him back. His ankle had a large tape job and he appeared to still be slightly favoring it when he walked (though not when he ran).

Our young CBs continue to grow up, albeit against weak competition. We’ll get plenty of experience in the secondary the next three weeks no doubt.

Boyce had a pass breakup on a deep ball. I say good for him. Mean-spirited detractors will probably remark that ‘he should have had the interception.’

Yeah, they still need work, but it’s not like we have proven stars waiting in the wings. This is who we have, it’s who we’ll go with. They must continue to improve with experience.

Yes, I hope we have 3 healthier backs next week against OSU.

Interesting response from Herman yesterday when asked why/if they had plans to get Dev and Jake on the filed at the same time. After his usual 2-3 second pause, his response was "why would we?"

IMO he was trying to take focus away from that tandem and a good ploy. However, I am sure all of the Big XII teams prepare for that.
