Too bad for Tom. But he alienated way too many donors last summer. Lost games to teams he should have beaten, lost to 7 unranked teams when Texas was ranked, lost to ISU at home after leading for 59 minutes. Should have beaten OU with Sam a Sr. QB vs Rattler a RS-Frosh. 1-4 vs OU, 1 CCG and lost to OU. 1 NY6 Bowl win. Another concern was the lack of development of the talent he recruited.
I looked back at CDC's statement that “Tom Herman is our coach.” He was right 2 weeks ago, Tom WAS our HC at...that...time. CDC didn't confirm him as the HC for the 2021 season.
May have been the same statement, but CDC is reported to have also said, "With the close of the regular season, I want to reiterate that Tom Herman is our coach," Del Conte said in a statement on Dec. 12. Same meaning on that day, Tom was the HC. Besides, with Early Signing Day that next week, firing TH before then might have cost us signatures, maybe not, but why take the risk? But, even if CDC said Tom will be our HC in 2021, that was true too, as Tom was the HC until 01-02-2021.
So, we can close the file on the Tom Herman Era, lots of promise, but not enough results.
