Reports out that Herman has been fired!

Glad TH is out, and it's a real thing when a man loses his job and family is affected. But it comes with the territory and he's well compensated.

Leary about Sark if he's the guy but I'm glad the ball is rolling. Watching players from state of Texas go to Ohio St and Bama is getting old.
 
Just another turd flushed down the toilet bowl. Better Herman and the players who self-flushed before the Alamo bowl, the dead wood is being cleaned out.

Bold move to pitch him, but one that needed to be made. Herman was another Gary Gibbs style coach - would always give you 3-5 losses per year. Better certainly than the Charlie Strong Experience, but not what Texas is looking for.

I wonder if Texas will keep the high priced and long contracted OC and DC's, to save some money compared to running them off then needing to hire new ones. Both seem to be good. Usually a new head coach brings in his own staff, but maybe Sak was told to use what's in place, and maybe he's fine with them anyway.

I noticed the same thing. He looked like he lost 20 lbs. Found out he quit drinking recently.
 
Major problem drinker during his time at USC.

I thought Herman had survived for another year. I'll admit I was wrong, Sabre, and you were right.

No idea. Just saying I noticed he lost a ton of weight. And then heard he "was not drinking now" and then I made the reasonable but unfair assumption that the two were tied.
 
Sark seems to have put his life back in order and has turned down several offers. I sure messed up before and changed for the better. Saban is a great teacher and it looks like Sark was a good student. I don't think anyone questions his football smarts. CDC has a lot on the line with this hire so I am sure he did his homework. So glad that TH is gone. It's a great way to start 2021.:hookem:
 
the Saban career rehab program strikes again. After you crap the bed at a top program all you have to do is go be a coordinator for Saban for two years and you pretty much get your pick on where you want to go next.
 
It's my remembrance that Sak was fired from the USC job as a result of not just being a drunk at home but being drunk at various job functions. Hopefully he's kicked the addiction once and for all.

Yeah, the idea is probably that if you do well for Saban in the pressure cooked of Alabama where anything but a NC is a bad year, and he recommends you, it means you've cleaned up your act and are once again ready for head coaching world.
 
I think some underestimate how desperately the BMDs wanted Herman out. They just traded him in for an assistant..... so that should tell you something.

I was looking at Mr. Mensa's post-game interview, yesterday (getting through an entire 47 seconds of it) and all I was thinking...."I can't believe we are going to have to listen to this idiot another year...."
