Release The Memo

That would be challenging if it weren't pulled out of someone's *** without any facts to support such charges.
The first part is suspect and I don't claim it with a straight face. I did find the "lordy, I hope there are tapes" to be an interesting comment.

The second part related to New York investigations is pretty well understood to be true. Mueller has insulated himself from the pardon machine.

Mueller is a decorated Episcopalian Marine combat veteran who's done nothing but serve his country with honor since graduating Princeton. The demonizing of him is crazy.

Neither being Episcopal, attending Princeton, nor serving in the Marines makes anyone perfect. It would have been honorable to not hire strong political partisans on your investigative team regardless of a goofy Okie’s misunderstanding of justice. I believe all Federal crimes are pardonable so it is difficult to understand how Mueller has “insulated himself” from anything but criticism from libs such as you.

It's being reported that the FBI officials, Strzok and Page, discussed in those missing texts, met with a secret society of FBI and Justice Dept officials that met outside of the agencies to discuss "working against Trump", a cabal if you will.

No wonder those texts had to disappear and no wonder why Congressmen who've read the memo say it needs to be release to "preserve our democracy". That's J. Edgar Hoover stuff, but this ain't the sixties anymore.

Bill Maher had a pretty good rant Friday about the lack of common sense everyone displays today. How does one preserve our democracy against everyone (on both sides) turning into idiots? Right now it feels like a lost cause, but I feel like everyone could still one day pull their heads out of their butts as quickly as they put them in there.

The FBI and the DOJ, et al, have so damaged their brand that I don't need to see evidence. If I just get a whiff of a rumor of wrongdoing by those folks, I'll buy it.

It’s kind of the accepted political science that you release a key document on the news cycle moment of choice—like during a hurricane or international crisis, or Saturday morning or whatever.

Totally agree but Maher is part of the problem with his soundbite politics.

Here is an interesting quote:

"Everybody gets so much information all day long that they lose their common sense."

Gertrude Stein

I'm not sure when she said it but she passed away in 1946. It seems that things have not changed though we think maybe it has...

For people who don’t like Trump, I say the Washington establishment brought it on themselves with this type of crap.

It has changed from even 10 years ago and 20 years ago. Ask anyone in 1994 what they would think about Donald Trump becoming president... or about Oprah being a challenger to him for president. They would think you were nuts or talking about some dystopian comedy film where electrolytes are what plants crave.

I understand that part; I was focusing on the common sense comment and the quote addressed that so I thought there was a connection.

I would never have thought that Trump would win. I didn't think he would win the nomination. But he struck a chord on the right and his antics destroyed the other candidates who were unable to move into his arena in a debate. He took them completely out of their comfort zone and nobody was able to calmly stand up to him and make their value system known in a compelling and yes, a Presidential manner.

One thing that surprises me about this Strzok/Page story is how many texts they've sent - 50,000. I don't think I've sent 10,000 text messages in my whole life. Assuming he sent half of the 50,000, this tool has sent 2 and 1/2 times that many just to his mistress.

Do these people just sit on their phones all day? Where do they find the time? If Strzok is sending that many texts, when was he out catching bad guys? He's an FBI agent. Isn't that supposed to be what he was doing? Lisa Page is a trial attorney. I was a trial attorney. I didn't have time to send 25,000 text messages. I was drafting paperwork, going to meetings, going to court, talking with clients, haggling with my opposition on the phone, etc. When did Lisa Page have time to do the normal things that trial attorneys do while she was sending 25,000 text messages to some dude she was screwing on the side?

It might be dexterity issue. My daughter can text with both thumbs without looking at the phone. I have to concentrate and use only my right index finger.

I'm pretty adept at texting, but I still couldn't do that many. Obviously, it would be considered terrible form and unprofessional to be texting in a meeting with a client or in court. Back in the office? I suppose, but most of what any real professional does requires brains and a degree of focus. If you're sending text messages to people, you're necessarily taking your mind off your work, even if you're pretty fast at it. If you're sending as many as Page did, it's going to impact your productivity and the quality of your work. I don't care who you are or how good you are at using your phone.

Dividing 25,000 by 365 comes down to sending 70 per day. It's like eating an elephant ... one byte at a time.

50,000 texts between them, so maybe that's 25,000 a piece (no pun).

Still that's an amazing amount. She's just not that hot looking. She looks like she could eat an apple through a picket fence.

Some poor s.o.b. is going to have to read all those texts and endure a lot of terrible conversation that would only have been interesting to those two to get to any “good stuff.” Hopefully they dont make him or her write daily summaries. “Today they discussed last night’s episode of the [insert show] and sent each other various emojis. He felt her take on the show was fire emoji and crying with laughter emoji.”

“Day 52: A lame joke was made and many hahas and lols followed.”

LOL! I thought the same thing. I'm sure some of us have gone worse at one time or another, and I'm sure she'd win Miss Oklahoma in a landslide, but for civilized societies, she's mediocre looking at best. Definitely not worth pissing away the time it would take to send 25,000 text messages.

Did these two ever get any work done? Seems like they were texting 24/7.

Which brings us something even more interesting (IMO at least).
Despite this trillion or so texts between them, they never discuss (as far as I have seen), the Trump Campaign and Russia. Ever.

Remember, the 50,000 isn't referring to their texts that were lost, but rather ALL the texts that were collected. I don't know if they ever said how many in all were from those two, but I want to say there were about 5,000 texts during that stretch. That's still a lot...

This is what I like about Horn fans. The unexpected likes from people of different politics is funny sometimes.
