Horns beat ou 2023. Convincing fashion, but not 49-0.

I suspect Venables will have another lackluster season at ou .. 8-4 maybe 7-5.

The howls of doom will echo from sooner land ...but he has more time.

Funny is correct. OU has as much talent as anyone. They will finish 1-3. And these so called sports journalist just love putting Texas at the top so they can talk about how much Texas underachieved. That's what happens when you're the most hated college team.

Nowhere to go but up from 1-11. I think they get rocked back down to earth from the Deion hire after getting blown out in Fort Worth by TCU in the opener and then lose at home to the Corn. They'll probably go 6-4 the rest of the way, but only because the Pac is garbage.

Sure CU "sold out" their "allotment" -

1) At what price?

2) How much was the "contribution" reduced to get the option to buy these tickets?

3) How many tickets in the allotment?

"Figures don't lie, but liars do figure"

CU has NO money, and the athletic department has less.

Unless CU can 'invent" something to fire Saunders for cause, he gets five years and will be replaced by "who the hell is that".

Well it sounds like you are programming in a noticeable improvement in Deion’s first year, so that’s a compliment in itself. If that happened, would you also anticipate improvement the next year?

Oh yeah I think 1-11 to 6-6 is really good. But I also think it's kind of inflated by Deion hype and taking a handful of opponents by surprise in 2023 with new schemes, personnel, etc. And, like I said, the Pac is garbage.

I have no clue about 2024. I'd like to think that Texas is improving from Sark's first game until now. If Deion improved CU +5 wins in Year 1, I think it's reasonable to say he could get another win out of them in Year 2. The issue is what happens when he starts to go head-to-head with Oregon. They're not that good yet.

Also, the whole college football landscape could blow up the conference.

Agree it will cut out stall tactics from some opponents and it makes passing oriented teams equal with run oriented teams, time wise.
This may actually be a benefit to us due to our preference for rushing offense.

NCAA approves running clock after first downs

No more stoppages on 1st down will definitely impact the game on a micro-level. I'm actually kind of glad that they kept the "stop the clock after 1st downs in the last 2 minutes of the half" rule because it'll help keep that suspense in close games.
What if that first down is the result of a long bomb 50 , 60 , 70 yd down the field?
They'll have to run their *** off to get up there. Or call a time out.

You are confounding the game clock with the play clock. The play clock only starts after the chains are set.

That is true. But I bet we still see the offense hustle down field with a long play just to get a play called, get set, and run a play before the play clock runs out. There will be an adjustment period in my thinking.

Game Clock still stops in last 2 minutes

The NFL doesn't have any issues with it. The whole intent of the rule in the first place was to get the chain gang set, not to give a break to either team.
