TCU didn't get invited because they are a smallish school with no large following in a state that already has two members and a not particularly great stadium and other facilities. And they don't have a billion alums.

We have a billion alums, are rich as Croesus, a huge stadium and facilities. And at one time a great tradition in football.

Big ones eat the little ones, as always. Frogs can warm their hands around the fire and think about what never will happen. Or how they might have been like Miss State or Vanderbilt.

We can sit around and imagine how great we are because we are Texas---unless we continue our current trajectory, in which case we become arkansas or a&m.

A stiff punishment for betting on the sport you play makes sense, and most of the rest of those were repeat offenders. e.g. Burfict didn't get "12 games for targeting" he got 12 games for refusing to reform his habit of dirty play after dirty play after dirty play.

And then, of course, the 6 games for Watson wasn't handed out by the NFL, but by a neutral 3rd party who Goodell has carte blanche to overrule, he just hasn't announced a decision yet.

Interesting that traditions listed for 2 other schools have actually been traditions longer at Texas
Old Smokey. At Texas since 1953
Cannon at ISU 1967
Wabash Cannonball. Played at start of 4th qtr. Vince DiNino asked DKR if there was any song he wanted to hear. Coach Royal asked Vince to play Walbash Cannonball.
KSU. Story goes that in 1968 that was the only music that survived a fire at music hall
