KSU's Alex Barnes declared for the draft
Leading rusher in Big 12, in both yards and attempts, so a huge part of their offense

Overall I'm ok with players transferring as long as we are bringing in the highest talent while recruiting. Usually players transfer for a few reasons.

A) they haven't proven themselves good enough to crack the starting lineup,
B) they have a bad attitude and think they just deserve to play
C) they just need a year or two of development and they think they don't need it.
D) Personal reasons like home sick
E) Grades

It sucks when C & D happens but the others I'm happy they are moving on because they are just taking a spot from someone else.

Apparently we have some unrest in our QB room --

"After the unexpected departure of freshman defensive lineman Michael Williams and unrest in the quarterback room, the Longhorns’ staff has decided to be proactive and call a town hall meeting for the freshmen class.

It was a chance for the freshmen to air their thoughts on the program and any issues they have with staff, playing time, and/or promises they felt were not held up.

This has happened before, so there isn’t much reason to panic.

There is unrest in the forest
There is trouble with the trees
For the maples want more sunlight
And the oaks ignore their pleas

The word “unrest” triggers this in me, sorry.

unrest in the quarterback room

Uh oh. This gruntles me too.

You have 2 frosh QB's that red-shirted this season. They will be RS frosh next fall (2019). Starter Sam will be a Junior this fall and his backup will also be a Jr. I believe. Based on TH's prototype QB - outside of an injury, Sam does not appear to be going anywhere.

I suspect one or both QB's fear riding the bench and not getting a serious chance to see meaningful playing time until they are Juniors - 2 years of potential playing time left.

My concern is the risk of the dreaded T word surfacing re: the frosh QB's.:puke:

I will forthwith endeavor to issue a trigger warning for you for all future unrest

This is on the coaching staff, and the coaching staff needs to settle it NOW!

I can easily see Rising as the next Kingsbury gift to the NFL, and the possibility of Thompson enjoying the beaches of Panama City or regretting the end of the dirt road in Blacksburg, while trying to save Fuentes job. (His job should be safe because no one wants it.)

Lil’Jordan Humphrey is 4th Texas player to have a rushing, passing, and receiving touchdown in the same season.

David Ash (2011)
Peter Gardere (1992)*
Darryl Clark (1982)

Humphrey said his decision to return for his senior season is 50-50 right now. The decision hinges on the input he will receive from the NFL College Advisory Committee.

Collin Johnson also said he hasn’t made a decision yet on if he’ll leave early for the NFL. He said he and his family are still in the process of evaluating. “Really my main focus is on Georgia,” Johnson said.

Charles Omenihu said only 1st-round picks should skip the bowl --

“Going against a school like Georgia, if we’re just talking about me personally, is a good thing. That’s a challenge I need to uphold and take.”
