No coaches, so far at least, have died from contracting the covid from their teams or from playing games/matches. Not just in the US but anywhere in the world. It's sort of interesting.
Early last Fall, CBS Sports was widely circulating the work of a "computer scientist" from Illinois Univ who predicted that resuming sports would kill a bunch of people. His "conclusions" directly led, at least in part, to the Big 10's initial decision to cancel all its Fall Sports programs. And then none of his predictions came true. In fact, the NC was just won by a 70-year old who did contract it but was fine (he had also had an earlier false positive test). Neither the computer scientist nor CBS Sports have ever retracted these claims that completely unsettled the entire world of college sports. Instead, he has doubled down and is now predicting several basketball coaches will die from contracting the covid because basketball season has resumed.
