Georgia fired their recruiting program coordinator and suspended their director of on-campus recruiting for 30 days without pay. Both moves without comment from the team or AD
One fired, another suspended from Georgia's football recruiting office

Love the bama buyout clause but that won’t keep them away if they really want him

But hey it’s not enough money to go around for the kids right

Hmmmmmm, reading between the lines this sounds like some probable NCAA involvement, and perhaps some possible sanctions on the way (or not)... Just another day in the SEC.

Georgia has been recruiting very, very well, so it's not the recruiting performance that's driving this firing. If they hire a new compliance guy, watch out!

The rumor is an affair between female boss and male employee.

From my experience, the scholarship athletes already get paid monthly stipends for laundry and food (non-training table) and generally sell back books that can be easily garnered from the tutoring center. This amounts to ~$300/month above room/board costs. Thought that was enough until these coaching salaries started popping. The non-power 5 conference schools could never afford to increase the stipend for athletes. May as well create a separate level for Power 5 schools + ND and increase that stipend.

Agree with the non p5 schools being able to up the anti some heck even some major schools can’t afford to which is the reason I think they should at least be able to profit from their own likeness.

I think it's ********* that they can't profit from their likeness.

Do academic scholarships have the same rules? Can they get paid in a commercial or possible acting role? If they become famous for whatever, are they bound to not sign autographs or go for paid appearances?

How about they come on scholarship and have the option of giving up scholarship for profit from likeness sales. Being someone who is paying for college and about to have a second it's really expensive to put a kid thru school. If they have the ability to make enough money thru likeness sales then they get that and pay their own way, but not both. I don't think most athletes appreciate the $120k+ benefit they are getting.

Also let's not forget that money from the revenue producing sports goes to pay for scholarships for the non-revenue producing sports. That money has to come from somewhere.

Offensive linemen jerseys will never be big sellers. What percentage of the QB,RB, and WR jerseys that will and wouldn't have been possible without them do they get?

The NCAA discriminates against athletes and walkons in many ways, yet no one will contest it. No part-time jobs is one.

The biggie that I had their *** kicked on was a kid from South America. Being from a Spanish speaking country and family, he is allowed to take his SAT or ACT in Spanish UNLESS he is an athlete. He took it in Spanish and scored 1300, but when forced to take it English, he scored 580.

He had a free ride to play basketball at Ohio State, although we had closed the gap. NCAA said, "He has to take his classes in English, he needs to pass the test in English".

His guardians (born & reared here) refused to allow the suit to be filed.

Regular students are allowed many privileges that athletes are not.

Dodd has up in the top 10

He points out only 2 defense starters return yet has us in the top 10? That would certainly be defying the odds if it comes to pass, but typically teams losing most of their defense don't fair well.

Losing Omenihu, Johnson, and Locke could prove problematic. Tbe others not so much.
