Random Off-Season News

FWIW, Kix Brooks was on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno one night and was talking about being inducted into the Louisiana Tech Hall of Fame. Brooks was telling Leno he was in a room full of portraits of previous inductees, when he suddenly thought "I'm easily the dumbest person to ever receive this honor. Then I turned around and saw Terry Bradshaw's picture".

Going into Game One, it might have been somewhat forgivable for us to be thinking a little more about Game Two on the schedule (LSU). But, thanks to Terry, our coaches should have no trouble getting the team focussed fully on Game One. I dont know if that's what LA Tech wanted, but its what they got.

Yea I was in Oklahoma City this week. I should have taken pictures of some of the antics I saw. Pretty Classic. My favorite was the 6'1" 195 Lb. woman with the 5'6" 125 Lb. boyfriend/husband at a gas station. I am pretty sure I heard her yell at him "get in the car boaa" as they were about to drive away. The two of them did not have half a full set of teeth.

To be candid, Terry Bradshaw has been a bumbling dufus since his playing days. And frankly, he wasn’t really a great player. Had he not been blessed with a great line, a transcendent receiver (Swann), a great back and the most dominant defense in the game at that time, he would today be a bumbling nobody, instead of a bumbling has been.

It has always been difficult for me — sort of cringe worthy — to watch Bradshaw on football coverage. He struggles to put words together in a cogent manner, and frankly he seems like either a simpleton or a moron, or both, sitting beside someone with any intelligence. Why CBS and later Fox hired and kept him on the set has always been a mystery to me.

All that said, bringing attention to Sam is a good thing...for Texas. It will prove not to have been a good thing for the other team when they come to Austin on August 31th.
