Women’s rowing has the second highest number of scholarships after football. Had no idea the team was that a large. I do not see men’s rowing listed?

Women’s track has 10 more than men and the numbers looks low for a full team.

Good to see golf get more scholarships, what they had was inadequate.
Why in the world does the rowing team need 45 scholarships? Happy that baseball is increasing, but surprised that football stayed flat at 85. Can someone provide input on why football did not go up.

Title 9. More schollies for women's sport results in more ships for men's sports.
Sure, I understand Title 9 but I am showing my ignorance of rowing. Not complaining, just trying to be better informed
I believe they have singles, doubles and a boat of 8.
What else that would give opportunities to 45---- especially when you see track and field with only 25?

To clarify the NCAA limit for FULL scholarships for women's rowing is 20. Most schools including Texas offer partial schollies but the total full is 20

IIRC Texas mens baseball also uses partial scholarships.

I'm not certain I know any more than you...but I'll add that there are at least two sets of teams for each...2 varsity 8s, 2 varsity 4s, 2 varsity 2, etc. They also have coxswains for each boat. I'm not doing public math but they have a very large roster now. I think it helps balance the number of football players in regards to Title IX. They aren't doing too badly in the NCAAs.

Oh, I did miss your point and you indeed raise an interesting question.
