PSA: Watch Longhorny on Jeopardy!

I know you've signed a non-disclosure agreement, but please, PLEASE tell me that you didn't embarrass us.

Fantastic. I hope you did really well. It would be perfect if you spoke in a Sean Connery voice.

Paraphrasing:

"I'll take 'Anal Bum Cover" for $200, Alex."

"That's 'An Album Cover'!"

Alex Trebek: "Archibald Leach, Bernard Schwartz and Lucille LeSueur".

Cliff Clavin: "Who are three people who've never been in my kitchen?"

any link/update on the actual show?

"i'll take months that start with 'Feb', please Alex"

took the online test, cant remember when it was but it had to have been between february and may of 2010. in july sometime they told me i was selected to audition, which took place in chicago in august. the audition consists of another test and a mock game to make sure you know how to play and can interact with people and stuff. in mid-october i was called and told i would be on the show, which took place in november.

The show has not aired yet-it will be on March 7th. I believe he is saying he can't comment on how he did until after the show airs.

I have a friend who competed on Jeopardy. Contestants sign a non-disclosure agreement, They can't reveal anything about the show until it airs.

haha, yah i wont be revealing anything. alex is ok. you are never allowed to be the tourist or take pictures or anything, basically you show up in the lobby of the hotel the morning of and you know immediately who else is going on (they are dressed up and have multiple changes of clothes) so you naturally start trying to identify who you do and do not want to compete against. they take you to sony pictures, lock you up in a green room for 2 hours with a couple of coordinators and food while they go over how it works, rules, paperwork, makeup, etc. you get to go on stage and practice playing (2 rounds of like 10 answers each). they take you back to the green room, bring out the audience, draw cards for who gets to go on, take the non-competing contestants into a secluded part of the audience (you are never allowed to look or talk to any friends/family you brought along), give more makeup to the people about to play, bring them out, shoot some commercials and hometown howdies (which are online when your show airs), then its game time and trebek appears for the first time when he walks through the doors on game 1. play some, commercial break during which trebek answers questions and contestants get water/more make up, and thats basically repeated every commercial (lots and lots of makeup). once the game is over, the losers get a cab called, the winner and people who havent played yet go to the green room, draw cards, more makeup, and repeat 5 times a day. trebek is cool, with contestants he seems more approachable and friendly, he answers questions but not about certain things (his salary is a big no no), pretty friendly guy but i can see people saying he may be a jerk or something, but as a celebrity who can blame him, id get pretty tired of it too.

really neat to get that perspective, longhorny. thanks.
very interesting.
i need to remember to set my dvr.
