Probable overturning of Roe v Wade

Every pro life person needs to walk the walk. Take on a foster kid. It’s not the kids’ fault. I’ve got t ball pictures tonight. :)

I don't understand this mindset. A human offspring because a person at the same time in California as the offspring does in Texas. Is it fear that the federal level will get it wrong?
No. It's a question of federal authority. The Tenth Amendment covers that area and limits the federal government to the powers specifically given them - other powers are reserved to the states. And I can't find any place in the Constitution where it says that every state must make the same decision on a power reserved to the states.

If we stipulate that at some point, a baby in the womb is life as defined by SCIENCE, then I suppose by the walk, you mean it's our responsibility to solve the irresponsibility of others.

Well, fed courts did get it wrong, and horribly so. And so would many states. However, our legal system is constructed to leave such decisions to the individual states.

The moral battle to preserve and respect human life from conception to natural death can be fought at the state and local level.

We are on the road to stipulating that life begins at conception, no? Yeah, I guess you're right. I'll defer further commentary.

Maybe politically. Not everyone is a Catholic, but if a state such as Texas bans abortion, then they are saying life begins at conception. You are correct on that. It would be shocking to realize that the six week rule would seem to be "reasonable" in the face of a total ban (life at conception).

Overturning it is not outlawing it.
Why are Libs ignoring the truth?
Caliing for Justice's death is way beyond the pale.

I mean we've seen this coming since 11/2016. I don't know why anyone acts shocked.

People get worked up on both sides, just on different issues. See 1/6 for reference.

Irrelevant. I don't have to let Nicole Simpson live in my house to argue that she shouldn't have been murdered.

Well they call it a "woman's" right to "reproductive" health.

Abortion is opposite to "reproductive" and liberals do not know what a "woman" is anymore including their newest SCOTUS appointee.

Conception = the point where a unique genetic blueprint is created, so yes, in my personal opinion (and that of the Catholic Church) that is where life begins.

And remember, I am a biologist...so I can even comment on the fact that for humans it takes a boy AND a girl to create said blueprint.

The Libs aren't thinking it through.

1) All the Texans wanting to live in a state that legalizes abortion will move to California.
2) Happy with their right's restored, the population shift will increase California's electoral college allotment and lower Texas'.
3) The President would then permanently become a Democrat King or Queen.

See? All is well.

They ignore the realities because it interferes with the narrative they are invested in. Facts are inconvenient to them. It shows time and again.

Sure, as soon as every liberal starts sending their entire paycheck to the Federal government.

And another thing; if Republicans were ruthless racists they'd pay for abortions out of their own pocket for all women of color.

I'm as good as I once was, once...

Hey, that blue pill is a game-changer and you young guys who just do it now have to compete with us experienced, romantic ladies men packing a rocket in our pocket!

I have no problem with a guy using the blue pill. I'm sure I'll welcome it one day. But I'll never turn down a reason to ridicule Switzer.

One thing I should add, this opinion is a leak. It's not an official vote of the majority, and we don't actually know if it'll become the majority opinion. The reason I point this out is that there were rumors that Planned Parenthood v. Casey was going to overturn Roe. My understanding is that Rehnquist had an opinion ready to go before Anthony Kennedy ****** him and flip flopped. Same thing could happen here.

Sleepy comes out with a statement about it with NO mention of the seriousness of the leak happening. Hopefully our country can survive his destructive leadership.

Question Bubba
If absent a heartbeat is death
What is presence of a heartbeat?
I really don't think I'm all in on debating this. But, I'll state some thoughts. It can be emotional and there's a lot of gray area. In my opinion, a fetus is a person when reasonable modern technology can sustain it outside of the womb. I would guess at about 22ish weeks but I'm not a scientist. I had a 27 week premie and it was tenuous for a minute. The 29 week one 5 years later was a lot stronger but she got 2 weeks of pre-birth steroids.

To me I would think the smart thing would be to strongly dissuade abortion but to also make birth control readily available. When pro life folks also push abstinence prevention they don't see that it's not going to work. I think when you ban abortion because you don't want late term abortions, you ban it for the reasons that we think it reasonable - rape/incest, when a fetus is incompatible with life, etc. To me, it would be wise to make Plan B readily available. People make bad decisions.

To me the abortion issue was a wedge issue created by the right 4-5 decades ago. Much like gun control. I think it got Trump elected. Let's see how this plays out.

Supreme Court leaks are rare but they've happened for centuries:

The original Roe case was leaked. I will search hornfans looking for your angst about that action.

I read a twitter thread from a liberal former clerk. She thought it was a liberal leaker at first but then switched to thinking it was someone who was in the Thomas direction wanting to solidify the anti Roe camp. I certainly don't know.

If you cannot see the seriousness of this action regardless of what side you support, there is nothing that can help you. Al Gore had not invented the internet yet in 1973.
